VICTORINOX POCKET TOOLS INCORPORATE MORE THAN A CENTURY OF TRADITION AND EXPERIENCE. IN 1884, THE ORIGINAL KNIFE WORKSHOP WAS ESTABLISHED BY KARL AND VICTORIA ELSENER AND THE FIRST DELIVERY OF KNIVES TO THE SWISS ARMY WAS MADE IN 1891. WHEN KARL ELSENER CREATED THE "ORIGINAL SWISS ARMY KNIFE" IN 1897, HE BEGAN WHAT WOULD BECOME THE SYMBOL FOR QUALITY, FUNCTIONALITY AND SWISS INVENTIVE TALENT ALL OVER THE WORLD.
I bought this to go with my Cybertool 34. It works great. The belt clip swivels with ball detents for stops every 45 degrees. The leather quality is great. It has a pewter shield logo.
I have only two minor complaints about it:
1) The closure is velcro, which is eventually going to wear out, even though it is high quality. Then what? I'm screwed is what. The old style belt pouches had brass snaps, which last pretty much forever.
2) It rides kind of high on the belt. If you have any love handles, it will rub on them a bit. I wish they would make these so the top of the pouch was even with the top of the belt, for better comfort.
Still, it is the best one I've found with a rotating pouch.
This pouch is solidly made. Leather is well done and smooth. The leather on the sides is slightly thinner that the one on the back and front. The pouch swivels around easily and swivel is solidly made. I am using this for a Swiss Army knife Cybertool 34. It fits in very well. Only problem is that once the knife is in, getting it out is not easy unless the knife has a little string tied to it. Otherwise you have to shake the pouch slightly andit slides out. Other small change I would recommend is that the swivel at the back is held in place by two rivets. These don't bother me even though they are exposed in the pouch. For someone who is overly cautious about scratches on their knives, maybe they may be worried. I have not had any problem because when I put the knife inside it is the knives which rest against these smooth rivets. The plastic is away from them. Overall this is a very nice, stylish pouch and I would buy it again without a second thought.
