Having had other belt hangers for keys and chains (of lower cost), I can say this one won't damage your belt and will do its job wonderfully.

I was very hesitant to buy the Victorinox because of the cost, so it went on a wish list and it was my best Christmas stocking stuffer in 2009.

I fully expect it to last longer then previous leather-type belt hangers and those other lower cost metal ones.

Having used other belt hangers, mostly the leather-type, to attach my wallet chain to I wanted to have this near the front of my pants by the front belt loop. However, it is solid stainless steel and every time I bent over or bent down it would dig into my hips, groin, or stomach. But once I started to move it to the side a little all was resolved and I believe it feels better on the side now anyways.

I like the feature that allows you to attach it or remove it from a belt without having to remove or unbuckle the belt. This is so nice that you don't even need to be wearing a belt to use it. Just put it the edge of your shorts/pants and it won't move due to the metal-on-metal contact.

I would caution that the C-clip is perfect for attaching thin rings to it but not so wonderful at holding thick rings because of its opening.

I bought this keychain 13 years ago, and it has been my only keychain since.

The red logo fell off ages ago, but everything else is still intact.

I did not buy the first two items from Amazon. I'd picked them up from a Victorinox showroom.

The Victorinox belt hanger is made of heavy duty stainless steel & has flawless craftsmanship as is expected of Swiss made products. It even has a serial no. embossed on it. It will surely last long enough to become a part of the family heirloom. Lol.

Conclusion:

I spent over USD30 to put this keychain together (see pix) & it is also the best keychain I've ever put together. It's totally worth it & with some care, sh'd last a lifetime. It also makes a cost effective & practical gift for all seasons / occasions.

This key fob is constructed of very sturdy metal and the design is quite nice -- you just slide it onto your belt loop or directly onto your waistband and it clings tight. To take it off, you pull up on the bottom, it flips up opening up space for you to pull it off. I highly recommend.

The construction of this belt hanger is quite sturdy and I expect it to last for years. It is designed to be attached and taken from the belt without having to take off the belt. Moreover, the design makes it is almost impossible to fall out of the belt without you noticing.
The bottom line; this is the best key belt clip I have ever owned. I strongly recommend it.

The size of my keychain has gotten larger as I have added a small flashlight, tiny titanium pen, Atwood tool, and tweezers to the normal keys I must carry. I find the wad of metal uncomfortable in the bottom of my pocket, so I have been trying different key fobs and carabiners to hook them to my belt. The main advantage of the Swiss Army fob is that you can hook it on your belt anywhere, without removing the belt, and it won't come undone accidentally. It takes a little practice to use but I am liking it more as I use it every day. The S-type carabiners I had before are easier to use, but they have to go on a belt loop rather than the belt, and the loop may not be ideally situated over a pocket to help contain the tools and keys. The S-carabiners also tend to open by themselves. This is a little more stylish and less tactical-looking, and seems to be very well made.

This is a quality product that is pretty useful if you don't like heavy items at the bottom of your pocket. It also allows you to carry a knife or keys higher in your pocket and a phone in the bottom.

The belt clip is excellent design! will not damage the belt
Also, the clip is 100% metal not leather ( picture make it look like white leather)
