knife seems cheaply made and flashlight works fine nothing seem to be up to Victorinox standards.

I love the knife but the flashlight did not work right out of the package. I had to send it back to the manufacturer which was a little inconvienent.

I had bought a set at Target, and liked it so much so ordered what I thought was same item through Amazon. Come to find out, the flashlight is about half the size of the set at Target. I don't see where Amazon gives the dimensions of the flashlight...

I purchased this set. The knife is first rate, but the flashlight is another matter. I loaded it with fresh alkaline batteries, and it worked for about a week. Then one day I went to use it, and it was dead as a door nail. This is unusual for an LED light of any kind. This flashlight did not even last as long as an incandescent flashlight would have!

After fiddling around with the knife a bit, I find that it is quite solid. Without using it to actually do anything yet, I cannot say for sure how I like it. If it is horribly dissatisfying, I will come back and amend my review.

The flashlight did not work right away. I read the other reviews and I was afraid I was left with a dud. However, after I left the batteries in it for some time and proceeded to nonchalantly twist the lens (while reading other Amazon reviews) I accidentally shined the light directly up into my eyes. That was not fun, but I am glad the flashlight works and will not have to send it in. I think, perhaps, the LED lens or some other part needed some time to warm up. I'm not an engineer or an electrician, so I can't say for sure. All I do know is that the first few times I twisted the cap on, the light did not go on, and now it does.

Just received the Sportsman swiss army knife and LED flashlight. Both are fine. I gave them 5 stars for value.

I notice that two reviewers reported that the flashlight did not work. Could this be because they inserted the batteries in the normal way with the positive terminal up (towards the bulb)? This light is backwards (per the instructions).

This is a tiny flashlight suitable for ultralight camping. I didn't expect a big beam.

The knife is the quality that we all expect of a Swiss army knife. The flashlight was defective. Quite the disappointment.

Bought this on 06/15/10. Got it at a good decent time frame. However, the flashlight was defective. The top wouldn't latched on after putting the batteries in, so the flashlight does not turn on. Had to return both items, the knife and the flashlight, to get the replacement for the same flashlight. Fast shipment. The new, same flashlight worked better 2nd time around. Thank you for getting the items to be quickly.
