5.0 out of 5 stars Solid and well designed, May 15, 2009

I own a number of multitools, and this is as well built as they come. Victorinox knows how to make a great tool. The outside-opening tools are a handy feature. You really can't go wrong.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm amazed, July 14, 2008
I bought a Swiss Army Knife years ago and was really pleased with it. Unfortunately I lost it. This tool lives up to the Victorinox reputation. It is sturdy, the blades are extremely sharp. It feels comfortable in my hand and the wire cutters performed effortlessly. I was initially undecided between this tool and the Leatherman. Although I have not used the Leatherman, I'm glad I bought this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classy and Distinguished, August 23, 2010

Being in the military, you almost have to have a multi-tool. everyone has the Gerber and Leatherman brand ones, but I wanted to be a little different. I'm going from a Leatherman "new" wave to this and it's a lot better... smoother operation, better quality, and ergonomics are all there...

i recommend if you are thinking about getting this, BUY IT, it's worth the money

my only small complaint is that the Philips screwdriver is a little more difficult to reach than i would prefer, but it's not a deal breaker and i use it several times a day.

All I can say is that I stand by my previous review. I just want to clear this item from the "items you need to review" list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Portability... function... style... quality., January 17, 2010

This is my second SwissTool. (I also have the larger original Swisstool.) I bought this multitool because I wanted to have a quality multitool that I could easily carry in a pocket if I wanted to. It hasn't disappointed me. The SwissTool Spirit is full featured but compact, and has some of the best pliers I've used on a multitool yet. I initially thought that the curve in the handles would be aggravating, but it is not at all. It is definitely helpful to have the curves when using the pliers, as they help you apply more squeezing power with your hands by not being so far apart. The only thing I wish this tool had was a ruler on the side, but that's not a huge loss.

By the way, this version has both the new style combination straight/serrated blade, which is nice, and the classic Victorinox spear point blade, with no scissors. I like this configuration well, and don't really miss the scissors. See the Swisstool Spirit or Spirit X if you want scissors instead, with just one of the two blade styles.
