I have a Victorinox Swiss Army Classic Pocket Knife attached to my keychain for the past decade, and I can testify to its quality and durability. Recently I purchased this Victorinox Swisscard Lite Pocket Tool, because:
- It can be carried in the wallet (same size as four credit cards stacked together)
- It has detachable tools (especially the blade and scissors)
- It offers several additional functions (such as LED light and magnifier)

The most commonly criticism on this Swisscard tool kit is that: it does not contain a 'real' knife. In fact, Victrinox calls the detectable blade a 'letter opener' instead of a 'knife'. However, I have no problems with the blade, because it is actually longer than that of my Swiss Army Classic pocket knife. See my uploaded picture in the 'Customer Images' section, for a side-by-side comparison between the Swisscard and the Classic Pocket Knife.

The detachable blade is an important feature when I'm traveling. Previously I must remember to remove my pocket knife and make sure it is NOT packed with my carry-on, otherwise it will be confiscated by airport security. With this Swisscard tool kit, I just keep the blade at home and carry the rest of the tools with me. By the way, I just tested this during my most recent trip. Apparently the airport security only has problems with blades, but scissors are acceptable.

Note that there are two very similar-looking 'Swisscard Lite' available.

As an electronics tech, I always travel around town with a multi-tool cause someone is always wanting me to look at something. Of course, lugging all the little things gets a bit heavy. Since I am starting to walk to the place I have tea twice a day, I am downsizing. Instead of a netbook, I will be carrying the newest Kindle, which will allow me to read, and do internet browsing for parts, etc. The Kindle case is small, but has a zipper pocket, where I can carry my ID, cash, credit cards, and this credit card multi-tool.

With the Swiss Army Cyberlite 34 multi-tool, I can build and tear down a computer. Best multi-tool I have ever owned. Now that I am downsizing, I needed something with small precision phillips, as well as standard phillips. This was the only credit card multi-tool that had micro phillips, phillips, and flatblade. Other features which help is the 3X magnifier for reading ultra small print on circuit boards, a light to be able to add just enough light to see into those small dark areas of a computer, and a pen to write down the information. The scissors are great for cutting paper, and are strong enough to cut some thicker stuff, but would refrain from cutting plastic cable ties as it probably wouldn't last long. The knife is nice, though it needs sharpening if you ready need to cut something other than an opening envelope. The tweezers are like all other Swiss Army tweezers. Personally I think they should add a 1/64 inch 90 degree bend on one edge. I think that would help in picking up things and pulling splinters from the finger. The ruler is in metric, and a nice straight edge. Hard to see inside, though easy to read outside. The final item is a straight pin. At first, i could see no real reason for it.

All tools are small and work well especially the scissors. I will focus this review on the new white led. I have a minichamp with the white led. I had hoped this swisscard's white led would have had the same brightness as the minichamp. This is unfortunately not so, maybe it is the translucent nature of this swisscard that is reducing the intensity of the small white beam. Please note these white leds' brightness are very weak when compared to photon micro-lights.

The list of features for this is misleading. It does NOT have a toothpick. For that you need the regular Victorinox Swiss Army Card or the 125th Anniversary Edition. This does have the advantage of a light, though. And with this card, the container for the scissors does not break, like the one with the regular card. I prefer the 125th Anniversary Edition because I hate the way the moveable scissors holder breaks on the traditional card and I use the toothpick a lot.

I was gifted a Ruby Swisscard (without the Lite) and was VERY happy with it - and when I saw the Swisscard Lite, I went through the "I've GOT to have one" moment, and bought it. I passed the old Swisscard on as a gift (good "pay it forward" practice for me :) ...

Pros: Credit card style - can fit into a wallet or purse credit card slot
Tools included:
Small blade
Scissors
Straight pin
Pressurized ball point pen
Tweezers
Magnifying glass
Screwdriver (3 mm, 5 mm)
Phillips screwdriver #00-0, #1-2
LED mini light
Ruler (inches, cm)

CAVEATS - does not include a nail file (which is on their regular Swisscard) - oh well - the LED mini-light, magnifying glass and screwdrivers are fair substitutes.

Bottom line: I like it!
