5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent steak knife
This is the best steak knife ever. Round tip steak knives are not easy to find. This can cut rare steak and toast sharply without any effort. Even taste and appetite gets better with this knife. Well worth paying $130.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheaply made and suspect country of origin
These knives are ultra light weight stamped steel, they look and feel cheap. They are half the weight of my much cheaper straight point Henckels steak knives, and the rosewood handles are clearly too porous to last.

The description says "expertly made in Switzerland" but I went over the box and the knives themselves (with a magnifying glass even), there is no evidence of country of origin, and we all know what that means. If it doesn't state a country of origin, it's always China.

Even if they were made in Switzerland, there is no way these knives are worth $130. If you go to your local chain steakhouse their knives are 100 times better than these. $25 tops.

The cheapo ultra-thin cardboard box and crinkly plastic tray are definitely not something you'd want to give someone as a gift either.

I always do my research before buying and rarely return anything. I bought these from a recommendation on America's Test Kitchen but perhaps the product has changed since the review since ATK is usually pretty reliable. Thank goodness for Amazon's easy returns because these are going right back.
