Product Description

Precision, functionality, and elegance fuse in the Women's Victorinox Swiss Army Classic Alliance Watch #V251047. The watch's sophisticated face features a round black dial with contrasting Arabic numeral indexes, subtle stick minute and second markers on the outer dial, a convenient date window at three o'clock, and the distinctive Victorinox shield at 12 o'clock. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective finish protects the face, and a sleek, stainless steel bezel holds it in place. A textured crown, 28-millimeter stainless steel case, and a stainless steel band complete the refined look, and a deployment-clasp-with-push-button holds the watch securely in place, while making it easy to put on and take off. Versatile enough for day or evening wear, this dependable timepiece is powered by Swiss-quartz movement and is water resistant to 330 feet (100 meters).

For the price that Amazon is selling this watch currently ($149.00), this purchase should be a "no-brainer." In fact, if you can purchase it for under $200.00, you should not hesitate to buy it. Why? First of all, watches at the same price point rarely have "antireflective-sapphire crystal" versus "mineral crystal." This means you need not worry about scratching the face - it can take a beating and it will still look "new" for years to come! It has a Swiss Quartz Movement (guess who invented the watch?). Yes, Japanese quartz watches are excellent, too...but, usually, the only other Swiss quartz watch at this price point is the Swiss Army Wenger Watch and it is only mineral crystal. Other than that $200 or under will generally afford you a Japanese or Chinese movement watch with mineral crystal.

The water resistance is 100 meters - no need to take the watch off if you're in the health care or food industry to wash your hands or even while shopping or at home washing the kids or your hands (you get the point!). Actually, at 100 meters you can even swim with the watch...just be sure the crown is completely clicked in.

If you are a person who is looking for a watch to go from work to play this is for you! It is good looking enough for evening and office, yet understated enough for casual wear. Although the watch is a "military" dial design, the overall look is very feminine. The silver Arabic hour numerals and hands are shiny and the Swiss Army symbol is not that awful red but also silver to blend in with the dial. The black dial is "nice" but depending on the lighting it sometimes looks grey which can then blend in with the silver numerals and time, making it hard to read the time.

    Verified Purchase
I bought this watch a year ago, took great care of it, and loved it! But as I tried to change the date setting recently, the entire stem fell out. I don't have superhuman strength or fake nails, so this is unusual. I spent $30 to ship it to an authorized repair center which called me to tell me to send them $130.00 to fix it. Victorinox warranty apparently only covers the inside (movement of the watch) and nothing else. I called the company and confirmed this. I wasted $250.00 on a watch for one year. To add insult to injury the repair company asked me to send them another $30.00 to return my now-useless watch (I would not pay $130 to fix it) back to me. I will not do that either. I asked them to keep it.
I will NOT recommend this watch or the company. No one seemed surprised that the stem fell out on a year-old Swiss Army watch and they want me to spend another $200 to fix and get it back.

    Customer service is still important.
