This item peels apples amazingly fast, as fast as you can turn the handle.
It makes the job of peeling and slicing the apples the shortest part of the job when preparing apple desserts.
Really worth the money spent, in saved time and frustration.
It will peel, core and slice an apple as fast as you can turn the handle, about 30 seconds per apple.
You'll probably peel more apples then you need, just because it's neat to watch it work.

Minus: You have to hold the cutter back until it gets started on BIG apples (or LARGE potatoes).
You need a smooth non porious surface to attach it too or it requires two hands to use it.

love this, works great use also on cucumbers and anything else that will fit. love the uniformity. Make sure your counter is try, a wet or moist counter wont allow sucction to happen.

Recently purchased this Apple Peeler as a novelty item for Christmas. My 9 year old daughter loves apples but hates the peel. I taught her how to use a potato peeler but she struggled. With this Victorio Apple Peeler she can have an apple peeled, cored, and sliced in less than 30 seconds. Now she eats an apple a day and loves using this gadget. My 12 year old who used to eat the apple without peeling also loves using this item. I find that the waste less apple using this than other methods.

Bought this to peel apples we picked at an orchard. I use it for much more. The peeler is handy, but the corer attachment is great for making curly potatoes. The bas attaches to the countertop and holds very well.

This is the second apple corer/pealer I have purchsed in 20 years. I make applsauce for about 100 people around the holidays and keep it up all year long. This little device makes my life SO much easier-and my son LOVES to help. My chickens get the peals and the entire family is happy. For me, this is a great product!

Been looking for a good peeler as sometimes I have problems with my wrist and so peeling by hand becomes tiresome and sometimes painful. Have looked at alot of them and finally decided on this one. Received it a while ago and use it every day now! Made apple pie filling, homemade applesauce and apple butter, and peeled and sliced apples to eat for breakfast or lunch. Peeled lots and lots of apples. It DOES peel, slice, and core apples easily and quickly with hardly any effort. The one trick I must tell you is that when you put your apple on the 'fork' you need to line up the other end with the slicer/corer so you are actually 'core-ing' the core of the apple and not missing it. Sometimes it does mess up, missing some skin, but you can take the apple off afterwards and just skim it off with a knife before you separate the slices. Way way better than hand peeling even if it occaisionally misses some. Your apples must not be mushy for this to work well though. Firmer is better. Definately a plus for pies and crisps as the apple slices are uniform. Do read the directions and adjust your blade correctly. (It's simple and easy to do). Sticks to a clean counter very well. Rinse off to clean!
Only problem I had was concerning potatoes. They are usually not uniform and round. This presents a problem as the peeler misses more of the skin, creating more 'cleaning up' of the potato. I found that apples work great, potatoes not so much. Still I love it and so does my wrist and hand! Family loves it too as they get more apple pie than usual!

This is my first peeler, so I didn't exactly know how to compare one from another and I hope this helps.

First, the mouth opening is a good size for Small Apples and Small potatoes - or you can simply cut the potato in half so that it fits correctly in opening.

Second: The adjust screw to tension the shaving device is what it is,it's a screw and very difficult it difficult to access with a screwdriver - there is no way to adjust the pressure with your fingers.

If this is your first peeler, you must adjust the pressure for every item you place in the peeler, otherwise, you will lose the flesh of the product.

I feel there is probably a better cutting blade out there as well. But how do you find one. It was a cheap learning experience and after using the product a couple of times, I now know what to look for in a replacement. "Wider Mouth opening and easy access to the tension adjuster"

I purchased this apple/potato peeler as a gift for my sister. I was pretty overwhelmed because there were so many choices that all seemed to be the same. I can't remember why I settled on this one but my sister has LOVED it! All they have been eating is apples since it is so easy to use and works great!

The Victorio VKP1010 is a very good product. It sure helped me knock out a bunch of apples that I needed to freeze in a hurry.

The only downfall was the suction on the bottom of the unit. When it gets wet, it had a tendancy to get loose. I had to continually make sure that my countertop was dry.

There are a number of these on the market, all with basically the same design, so for the most part this is a generic review. This is the second one I've had, the first having been lost in a move. I'm very happy to have another one.

This product makes eating an apple a day not only pleasant and healthy but fun. I love apples but never really enjoyed biting into them. This product peels the apple, takes out the core (with all the seeds), and slices it into a spiral. You're left with the pure meat of the apple to break off in chunks and eat. My grandkids get a big kick out of it and so do I, and it actually encourages us to eat more apples.

Although I don't bake, I imagine this product would be a boon to those who do bake apple pies. It's also said to peel potatoes, though I haven't used it for that.
