My Wife really got into canning this year.

Where there are no dividers, you can not only do the regular 7 quarts, but you also have to option to do up to 9 pints or 13 half pints in a batch.

I took a chance with the stainless steel Victorio rack and guess what?.....no more rusty water full of sediment when I am done canning!

I LOVE this canning rack and all the options it gives you when canning. Where there are no dividers, you can not only do the regular 7 quarts, but you also have to option to do up to 9 pints or 13 half pints in a batch. And the stainless steel finish means no rust. I have four water bath canners and I bought one for each of them. What are you waiting for...simplify your life with this awesome product.

This rack broke right away. It would have been great, as the jars sat nicely on it. But the welds were bad. I loaded it for the first time with 4 jars in the up position mounted on the pot like you're supposed to. The weld broke as I added the 4th jar, sending the entire thing crashing into the pot with the jars. Very alarming for a first time canner.
Unfortunately it was just very poor quality and didn't perform at all. Thus the 2 stars. The seller gave me a quick refund which was kind of them and I got a different rack. Sorry this didn't work out and thank you for the speedy service.

I needed a new basket for canning, and based on someone else's review of this product, I followed the recommendation and purchased it. Used it yesterday - loaded it up with 12 1/2 pints of blueberries and I was able to put everything in and lift it out of the bath without any problems. It didn't fall apart, didn't rust, so I'm a happy camper.

Here at Merry Tree Lane we've been canning up a storm since August - putting up all sorts of preserves, jams, sauces, and fruit. We bought a new canner (there's a separate review on that) but the canner we bought didn't come with a rack, so I happily ordered the Victoro Stainless Steel Canning Rack - as I love stainless steel cookware.

The Victorio works - ok - but not great. It fits in the canner quite well, but it really doesn't seem very sturdy and it's very difficult to use to raise and lower the jars into the water bath using the rack. There's no way to stablize the jars as you lift them out of the bath and they fall over - especially the smaller jars. In fact, in short order, I gave up on trying to do that, and just used my jar lifters to put the jars in and then to remove them. Plus, the rack didn't sit firmly on the edge of the canner rim when lifted out of the water, which was another reason I scrapped the plan to use the rack to lift my jars.

The spacing of the wire on the bottom of the rack makes it difficult to set small half pint jars on it without them falling over or touching each other. It worked better with the pint jars (we didn't try any quarts) - those were quite a bit easier to set in and the jars were stable. But with the half pint jars it was a battle.

Like most racks, the handles fold down on top of the jars, but since I'm not comfortable lifting out the rack, its difficult to manuver around the handles - they just keep flopping back on top of the jars. Sometimes it took two of us to get out the jars - one holding the handles out of the way and the other lifting out the jars with the jar lifter.

Final opinion - adequate for now - but I'm on the hunt for a rack that's easier to use and fits my canner.

Victorio VKP1056 Stainless Steel Canning Rack, Flat

After decades of canning using the typical rack that comes with an ordinary Ball granite ware canner, it is so nice to not have rusty water in the canner when I am done. For a long time, I blamed the sediment and rust on our well water. I took a chance with the stainless steel Victorio rack and guess what?.....no more rusty water full of sediment when I am done canning! And there is no more residue on my finished jars.

I bought this to replace the rusty one I had and love that it does not have the ridges that divide the jars so that I can use any size jar. Very happy

Product is nice in its design and it works well for pints, but for 8oz jars or smaller they will fall on their sides when processing.
Manufacturer needs to rework the design.

A flat bottom canning rack is the way to go. This fits in my standard canning pot just right. I can hold around 12 half pint jars in this rack at once, making processing time quicker in big batches. The crooks in the rack arms allow it to hang on the side of the pot making filling up and removing jars easier than digging them out of the bottom of the pot. I haven't had any problem with rusting on the welded points or wires of this rack.
