i ve had this game for quite a while and itz fun with alot of hidden techniques such as the devastating uppercut and the heartbreak punch which im currently trying to master. overall could use voice acting but this style grew on me boxer s move slick and smooth like real life and with 70 plus characters how can u go wrong get the game. dont debate or tt may be too late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A challenging...scratch that "fricken HARD title"., October 2, 2010

Well I have to say after playing Fight Night Round 4 for a bit this game is a refreshing take on the boxing genre.
You might breeze though the first couple fights but believe you me when you get to Jason Ozuma you may cry. For fans of the series this game is a must. While its close cousin Hajime no Ippo 2: Victorious Road (?) has more options, sans character selection *70 fighters!*, this is the game you want if you dont import.
Pros:
Slick controls
Great visuals
Challenging fights
A robust story mode
and Takamura!
Cons:
Sometimes controller breakingly difficult
Only the announcer has a voice
You'll switch between control schemes till you really get a feel for it
A couple of hours worth of a learning curve
You will duck, you will weave, or Ozuma and later Sendo will knock your block off.
Overall
8/10
for the fans
9.5/10
No arcade or practice mode

A lot more movement options which make the game feel very real especially when you're stuck on the ropes or in the corner. I also like the fact if your boxer is fast enough you can circle the opponent. Oh yeah the parry/counters were done very well too.
