GERMAN METAL MASTERS RETURN TO U.S. SHORES,

I HAVE ALL OF RUNNING WILD'S RELEASES AND IF YOU LIKE JUST TRADITIONAL METAL IN THE VEIN OF ACCEPT, JUDAS PRIEST, SAXON.....ETC THEN THIS IS FOR YOU. ROLF KASPAREK(AKA ROCK AND ROLF) TRADEMARK VOCALS ARE VERY FITTING FOR THIS STYLE AND THE MUSIC IS HARD AND HEAVY AND IT WILL GET YOUR HEAD BANGING. THEIR COVER OF THE BEATLES REVOLUTION IS FUN BUT THE ORIGINALS ARE THE STANDOUT HERE. TIMERIDERS AND WHEN TIME RUNS OUT ARE STANDOUTS IN OVERALL A GREAT METAL RECORD. HAIL RUNNING WILD!

Victory decent release,

First of all I have all the early works and later works of Running Wild. Masquerade is my first and favorite album. With that being said I will say that this album has some great cuts on it. Yes it's not one of his best but as all Running Wild albums I have to have them for my collection. I like this album and have listened to it quite a few times. Something that can be appreciated is the sound quality in the mixes of the songs versus the sound quality in some of the older music. All in all I own it and will not sell it so I guess that should say something!

Wow, there sure is a lot of hate for Running Wild's 2000 album Victory (the band's 11th studio release) here. I know it's not exactly Under Jolly Roger, but it's far from being a bad album. Maybe I'm partial to it because it was my first Running Wild album, but I don't think any melodic power metal album deserves so many 1-star reviews.
Yes, Victory is pretty formulaic. The songs have a more military focus, but this is a pretty typical Running Wild album, full of galloping leads, catchy melodies, marching rhythms and Rolf Kasparak's gruff vocals. It's a formula that works though, even with the programmed drums that start to creep in here. Most of the songs on Victory rock pretty hard, and at least a couple ("Hussar" and the epic "Tsar") are really amazing. Hell, I even enjoyed the cover of the Beatles' "Revolution." I suppose the band was starting to run out of steam at this point, but I still enjoy this album a good deal. It may not be the best Running Wild album, but even an average Running Wild album is still better than a lot of bands' best work. Victory is a very solid melodic power metal album, and one that ought to please most fans of bands like Grave Digger, Pretty Maids, Sabaton and the like. Edition Notes: Victory is also available with the band's Rivalry and Brotherhood albums - all three in digipacks - in the Legendary Tales box set.

the best band ever,

running wild is one of the greatest bands ever due to the fact that there music is ther own not some cockamammy bull that these "rock stars" today have. Most bands you listen 2 have done or redone to there version of classic rock, but Running Wild knows that there the best due to not doing or redoing some1 elses music its there own and proud of it i am. the best album though is Under Jolly Roger. In my aspect i think this 1 is the best but is very hard 2 find.

Metal as it should be.....,

Like all of Rolf's previous albums with RW, this is outstanding. Songs like "The Guardian", and "When Time Runs Out" have memorable hooks, fabulous solos and cannot help but make you want to grab that 'air guitar'; of course, no RW album would be complete without an epic like "Csar". All in all, metal as it should be....melodic, fast, and powerful! Highly recommended.

Until death do us Part,

Well here I am with another RW CD. As a die hard fan I will never dislike their albums. It is the core power metal mixing. Though less double bass attack is visible, Mr.ROLF is excellent as ever. The melody, thilo's guiter, and the echoing voice...ahhhh only running wild can do it. I don't care if u guys will agree with me or not, he is one of the best producer alive. He creates the mood, the craze, the head banging, is just too perfect. Well as a metalhead I would suggest, if u r first listener of RN start with older stuff like Port Royal. Go PIRATES GO.

the pleasant surprise of the year!,

I once owned Running Wild's "Death or Glory" and thought it was very average. But years later, hearing two mp3's from their new album, I thought I would give them another chance. And I'm glad I did! Running Wild are still playing rock 'n' roll-based metal with blues rhythms, which you don't hear much in metal nowadays, since most bands are going in for a heavier sound derived from baroque, classical, or jazz. This CD really sounds like something that could have come out in 1981 - except that it has modern production and some of the catchiest guitar harmonies you've ever heard. These fast guitar harmonies are really what make this album special. The first three songs and the title track are especially great. This album may not be the most original of the year, but you're not risking much by picking it up: it delivers on great classic-style hard rock/metal.

Heavy Metal at its Heavy Best!,

Running Wild's 'Victory' cd stands out as one of the best heavy metal releases to come out of Europe in 20 years! Running Wild definately seems to get better with each new cd release. Absolutely polished professional metal with plenty of hooks. All of the songs are fantastic and two titles to check out are 'Return of the Gods' and 'Silent Killer', which has one of the best guitar solos I've ever heard! Heavy Metal at its heavy metal best! Great stuff.....Outstanding metal release of the new millennium!

Oh boy, this Cd is awful... I expected so much more from Running Wild.. What a disspointment... THe photos in the booklet ( featuring Rolf in uniform ) are ludicrous, really a shame !! As for the song, forget about it. You'll get one or two worthwhile songs. The rest is garbage, sometimes even using sinthesyzed drums !!!! Blergh !!
