NOT FOR FINE HAIR,
By charlotte "mp1010" (CHICAGO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vidal Sassoon VSDR5501 1875W Answers Turbo Dryer for Fine Hair (Health and Beauty)
I purchased this @ a store before I knew Amazon carried it,.and payed more for it,.at any rate, this makes my fine hair even limpier than normal. It has to do with the ions. Ionic and tourmaline hair dryers are not good for fine hair no matter what anyone says. On the lowest setting it is too strong and the heat is barely enough to set the hair. On the max setting,.(there are only 2), it blows so strong it could take your head off. Also not good for fine hair. Max watts should be no more than 1500 for fine hair. Also,..why is it so difficult to find a regular ionic fee, tourmaline free hair dryer that is junk?
All in all,..don't get this if you have truly fine hair,..if you have fine hair but a lot of it,..I guess it's ok.

I bought this blow dryer maybe 6 to 9 months ago. It started "shorting out" several months ago. It died on Sunday. My last blowdryer lasted for five or six years so I didn't save the warranty information for this one. My bad.

It works great for me,

I decided to write a review about this product because I couldn't find many helpful reviews for people with fine, thin and poor hair. I've done a lot of research and there are lots of hair dryers on the market, but it is difficult to find one for my type of hair. I have long, thin hair, and my fight was not only with fly-aways and frizz, but also with volume.
I bought this hair dryer from a beauty salon in the neighborhood, at the same time with a Solia hair dryer, which is 2x more expensive. I have to say that Sassoon suits my hair type better. It doesn't have as many features as Solia, for instance, but Sassoon does its job properly. Before using it, my hair looked dump, dirty, oily (you name it) the 2nd day after washing it. Now I wash my hair at every 4 days (a huge thing for me!), I got rid of the frizz, and my hair looks shiny and soft, and it has volume. Obviously, one should not rely entirely on the hair dryer if one wants to achieve salon-quality results. I'm not a specialist, but in my opinion, the hair dryer is just one of the issues that can make a difference. So, I also use shampoo based on nettle (which makes my hair thicker and less oily), as well as an ionic/ceramic brush to style it and pump up the volume. It all takes me like 15 min. For a special occasion, a couple of ceramic thermal rollers can help tremendously. The hair dryer itself is very light, which makes it easy to hold. The cold shut button is placed a bit weirdly, but I don't consider this a big problem. I am, personally, very satisfied with my purchase, and so far, I consider this particular hair dryer the best for fine hair. It's affordable price wise, and I can see and feel the difference on my hair.
