5.0 out of 5 stars Great Kitchen Helper
I'm always skeptical about these As Seen on TV products, but since I'm all thumbs in the kitchen, I thought I'd have nothing to lose with trying this one. Lo' and behold, it is by far THE SINGLE MOST USEFUL ITEM in my kitchen next to the microwave! I use it many times a day, for dicing fruit for the kids, to making fresh salads and preparing mashed potatoes. There is...

1.0 out of 5 stars Pretty disappointing..
I had high hopes for this thing because chopping onions sends me into a weeping fit so horrible that I generally can't finish what I started. The commercials make this look MUCH easier than it actually is - I'm a 5'7, 140 lb woman and in order to get part of an onion to go through these blades, I literally had to put all of my weight on this thing pushing down (and even...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Kitchen Helper, February 1, 2007

I'm always skeptical about these As Seen on TV products, but since I'm all thumbs in the kitchen, I thought I'd have nothing to lose with trying this one. Lo' and behold, it is by far THE SINGLE MOST USEFUL ITEM in my kitchen next to the microwave! I use it many times a day, for dicing fruit for the kids, to making fresh salads and preparing mashed potatoes. There is nothing easier since you simply place the fruit or veggie on the blade, close the top firmly yet easily, and presto -- you've just perfectly diced! The instructions recommend cutting larger pieces in half or quarters and this helps especially with potatoes. There are two different dicing blades which allow for the real small cubes like onions for egg salad, and the larger pieces great for fruit salads. I especially love the quick pop in and out blade panels, easy to rinse and store. There is a small plastic picker to get the crud out from the blades while rinsing, and this came in handy when I diced apples with skins. The base has rubber stoppers so the unit sits firmly on your counter with no clumsy sliding around. I love this product so much I plan to buy one for all the cooks in my family to make their job in the kitchen much easier. A+ all the way. Get one!

5.0 out of 5 stars REALLY DOES WHAT IT SAYS!, December 20, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Vidalia Chop Wizard (Kitchen)
I did a lot of research before I bought this item and let me tell you its one of the best TV items I have ever purchased. It chops almost EXACTALY like you see it on TV. One swift (but firm) motion and POW you have diced whatever. Its SO easy in fact that the first day I got it my room mate and I chopped just about everything in our fridge in about 20 minutes. Onions, celery, carrots, peppers, even some chicken breast. Whatever looked like it could be diced. The ONLY thing I had trouble with was soft bread. Everything else was like a chopping factory. Bought one for my sister for Christmas even. FAR more sturdy then I expected. Great and easy design and each blade is nice to have. I use it a lot and I love it every time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best kitchen gadget I EVER bought!, December 9, 2006

This review is from: Vidalia Chop Wizard (Kitchen)
This item is not the flimsy, breakable item you saw in stores back in the 80's.
WHAM, and you're done!
I can now chop a whole bag of onions in two minutes, takes WAY longer to peel them than to chop 'em!
Cleans up quick, with the little "finger tool' they provide!
A product you WON'T be sorry you bought!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Highly Recommended!, December 27, 2006
This review is from: Vidalia Chop Wizard (Kitchen)
We got the Vidalia Chop Wizard as a Christmas gift. As it's a "TV gadget" we were suspect. But, it's really great. We've chopped onions, peppers, potatoes and more and everything comes out very well. The measuring storage bin is also very helpful for recipes. The chop wizard is easy to clean and the little "finger" gadget gets in all the grooves. This gadget is well worth the price.

I've written exactly 2 online reviews - as I have only felt compelled to do so twice. The Vidalia Chop Wizard is a fantastic addition to any kitchen. More than just a "gadget", this item revolutionizes cooking because it cuts down on preparation time dramatically. It is solidly built and requires fairly little force to use - even with potatoes and carrots - as long as they are approriately halved or quartered as suggested in the instructions. You can make fruit salads in minutes. This is also a must-have item for anyone with a toddler, as it quickly makes just about any food bite- sized. This is the best thing sice slided (er, diced?) bread. I highly recommend this product to anyone. You will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC, February 1, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Vidalia Chop Wizard (Kitchen)
Like some others here I am very leery of TV infomercials and after studying it HEAVILY.... calling the company, seeing, taping and RE-watching the half hour infomercial, also looking all over the internet including Target's reviewers along with Amazon's reviewers, I decided this was safe to take a stab at [pun IN-tended lol] because I cannot stand in the kitchen chopping because of my back. This device is FANTASTIC. At first don't get nervous, because you have to get accustomed to it's little quirks [hey, WE all have those too lol]... like making sure the whole fruit or veggie is cut in half OR quarters or YES, it WILL be a mess, as some have said, and celery has to be cut into smaller segments [I cut across the WHOLE bunch of celery, hard to explain] and you DO have to bang the cover down VERY HARD sometimes, but hey.... so what! It WORKS. Then when done chopping, take the blade out and bang it over the pot to get the excess into the pot/pan that remains in the blades [unavoidable], then use the white piece that they enclose to help OR a fork, and it's fine. What a DIFFERENCE instead of cutting everything. Don't hesitate for a MOMENT in getting this. By the way, Target's reviews were much worse so don't even bother to go there... I read these here first [it's FROM Target through Amazon] and there were much more great reviews HERE to overpower what I read there, so decided to try it, and am so glad I did.

I bought the Vidalia Chop Wizard because I wanted a quick and easy way to chop onions without the tears and hassle. I not only got what I wanted but much more. This little gem is great for so many things. It not only chops onions very efficiently but also is great for squash, green peppers, apples, walnuts, celery (WITHOUT STRINGS!), eggs....the list could go on and on. I definitely recommend this item. It is sturdy and easy to use as well as versatile. You won't regret it if you get it!

This is just the device for quickly chopping or dicing veggies such a tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. Remember to slice to the depth desired first before chopping.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vidalia Chop Wizard WORKS!, January 12, 2007

Fish Cheeks (In Your Dreams) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vidalia Chop Wizard (Kitchen)
I love to cook but I hate having to chop up vegetables (ie: carrots, onion, peppers, mushrooms) into small sizes because I'm afraid of cutting my fingers. The Vidalia Chop Wizard takes that fear away. You just place the vegetable on top of the blades, push the lid down, and you're done. It's not messy and it saves time. I love apples, but eating them is uncomfortable for my teeth. Not anymore. After removing the core, I place the apple on the Vidalia Chop Wizard and next I have 1 cup of bite sized apples I can eat. The only complaint I have is that the blades are difficult to clean if there is food stuck to them. Also, it takes a little muscle to push the lid down on the Vidalia Chop Wizard, but it works. If your onions aren't being chopped all the way, you should try cutting it into quarters, which is what the instructions suggest. Thanks to the Vidalia Chop Wizard I don't have to worry about cutting my fingers or my hands smelling like onions. Good product!

I received this as a christmas gift and really didn't think it would stand up to anything but I was very surprised. I LOVE this thing! It's going to become my new favorite kitchen utensil. The cleaning comb is especially useful and makes it even easier to clean. I would DEFINITELY buy this product with NO hesitation!
