This IDC study presents results pertaining to portable media players from our 2008 Consumer Video Survey. Included in this study are results pertaining to video-enabled portable media player ownership and usage in the United States. The survey was conducted entirely online in spring and early summer 2008.
"Despite the ever increasing availability of video-enabled portable media players, consumers have yet to truly embrace video like they embraced music. Yet IDC believes that video still offers vendors an opportunity to differentiate themselves from the market leader and by doing so encourage consumers to embrace video much like they embraced audio," says Elizabeth Curtis, associate research analyst with IDC's Consumer Markets program.
