5.0 out of 5 stars Come taste the modest band, April 9, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Video Singles [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Deep Purple was never too much into producing videos. Claimed as the most modest rock band, they demonstrate their unwillingness for a self-promotion in this video singles collection. The VHS features the band's 1984-87 timeframe from "Perfect Strangers" and "The House of Blue Light" albums and includes:

-Knocking at your back door. Not particularly good video with some futuristic and cheesy space odyssey images. You won't see any of the band members here, by the way... (speaking of modesty) Still, the song is way too good and no horrible video can spoil it.

-Nobody home (concert performance from their opening world tour)

-Perfect Strangers, rather a documentary film than a video.

-Bad attitude, the opening video on the VHS. One of their best post-reunion songs and an excellent video in style of 80's.

-Call of the wild. Probably, the best and the funniest video. You will laugh all the way throughout it as it highlights a typical british sense of humour of Deep Purple and their cast.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great music - boring videos, September 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Video Singles [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is the videos from the first albums after the 1985 reunion. If you are a fan, you would like to see the band now and then in the videos - this is not happening often here. Some of the music is great, especially "Perfect Strangers". "Call of the Wild" has a nutty video.
