5.0 out of 5 stars Works for me
I love this program. I don't know what that other reviewer is talking about. I do recommend that you make sure you read the requirements before you buy this product (as is the same for any computer software). This program is so very simple to use! 1.0 out of 5 stars Utterly useless!
From the product description: "Import almost any digital media into your PC and then move it to your iPod -- it's really that simple."

No, it's NOT that simple. Notice the "almost" in there. What does "almost" mean, you ask?

"Almost" means anything that is NOT COPY PROTECTED. Which is, of course, VIRTUALLY NOTHING.

This little detail is mentioned in the VERY FINE PRINT on the PACKAGE, which isn't visible until AFTER you've purchased it.
It is notably ABSENT from Amazon's product description, which only lists the software's features.

Therefore, PLEASE NOTE that 2 of the 5 features listed above are FALSE.

This software DOES NOT import "ANY" DVDs, VCDs, SVCDs, or analog/digital camcorder tapes--it ONLY imports those that are NOT COPY PROTECTED.

It DOES NOT "Export directly to the iPod Video"--it gives an ERROR MESSAGE stating no iPod is connected, EVEN WHEN ONE IS.

As if THAT weren't bad enough, NO MANUAL or instructions WHATSOEVER are provided with this product.

I wanted to import some music videos I had purchased on DVD onto my iPod so that I would be able to view them when traveling.
I thought this software would allow me to do that.

NOPE.

Don't waste your time or money, unless you're just looking for something expensive to set your drink on.

I love this program. I don't know what that other reviewer is talking about. I do recommend that you make sure you read the requirements before you buy this product (as is the same for any computer software). This program is so very simple to use! Just pop in a movie and it'll search for it automatically. Then all you have to do is click the start button. Very, very simple. You can even search for movies already on the computer, which came in very handy since we had a home movie that we made in a movie program with pictures and music. Just a few minutes and it converted over to my iPod. This is worth the $30, since it costs just as much to put a movie on your ipod as it does to buy an actual DVD in the store. To help alleviate boredom on a long flight, I don't mind watching a movie I already own.

I forgot to mention. I did have a problem with my ipod being connected so I just saved it on my computer and then just opened the file within itunes. It worked fine that way and takes no extra time, plus then it's in itunes.

1.0 out of 5 stars DONT BUY unless you just want to convert home video or burned dvds, October 19, 2007

I bought this thinking it would be similar to a cucusoft dvd to ipod converter suite that I had on and old computer...NO WAY! Everything is protected so I can't put any of the movies I own on my ipod. I have 135 movies, I tried EVERYONE of them!! yes I really did.....none worked, they are all protected, ever tv series dvd..nope. So dont waste you 25 or 30 bucks on something you are never going to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Program for the Price, October 17, 2008
By
This review is from: Video Vault for the iPod (CD-ROM)
This is a great program for getting your home movies and favorite recorded programs onto your Video iPod. Simple and easy to use. Those that rated it negatively were after a program they thought would circumvent copy protection which this program doesn't allow. Of course there are ways to get around this, i.e., loading AnyDVD prior to starting Video Vault...which, of course, may be illegal in many countries and frowned upon by the MPAA ;).

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent software. Efficient and inexpensive., July 12, 2007

This review is from: Video Vault for the iPod (CD-ROM)
It does everything it's meant to do. If you record movies from cable, like I do, this is THE software for moving those non copy protected DVD's to a Video iPod. Adding a ripper to Video Vault enables it to work on protected disks too.

The program is being supported by Bamboo Technology. Clicking on the "Upgrade" button takes you to their web site, where you can download the latest version of Video Vault at no charge. This is important, since the latest generation Video iPod's only work with the newest version of the software.

In all probability, if the two reviewers who panned this program had been a little more computer literate, they would have been able to get it to do whatever they required.
