Book Description

Military aircraft have long been able to perform maneuvers human pilots cannot tolerate. Remote-controlled, unmanned aircraft are one answer to keeping our enemies at bay and protecting those flying the missions.

VIDEO WARRIORS is the tale of how some of America's best and brightest young people formed Special Flight Operations Group One. As you follow their progress from video gamers to proud officers serving their country, you will wonder if this is fiction or prophecy. Is there already a cadre of young VIDEO WARRIORS in training?

Strong, decent characters, and a nasty villain or two, will make this a hard book to put down. Written for young adults, but suitable for all ages. Realistic heroes to inspire every reader, a reflection of our hope for the future.

Editorial Reviews

Review

I finished this book, admittedly a short novel, in a few hours. The premise behind it is great. As a fervent gamer, I often wonder why something like this didn't happen years ago. The main characters are well though out, and just enough of a background is fleshed out to make them believable. I noticed a few minor grammatical errors that could be edited at a later date, but nothing major. The biggest issue in the story, to me, was that some of the technical references seemed outdated. While some of the story takes place in the past, vindicating such, there seemed to be references in parts of the "real-time" story that also referenced older hardware and software functionality. Small issue for a great story. Can't wait to read the next in the series.

From the Author

This book was written because I saw the growing trend toward unmanned combat aircraft. As I watched young people playing highly complex video games, it occurred to me that with proper discipline and training, they could be the combat pilots of tomorrow.

This story tells how that could come to pass. Written for all ages, this is a book I would have loved to read when I was in my teens. As it was, I was happy with Robert A. Heinlein and I believe he would like this book about strong young men and women with the character necessary to become the next generation of warriors to defend our nation.

Author's note: I appreciate the review by Eclectic Reader and can find no fault with the observations. Plans are in the works to produce a Second Edition, probably with illustrations. In the meantime, I hope readers continue to read and review this volume. Reader input is critical to a writers growth and success.
