I am glad I did, these are great stands, very stable, easy to adjust and aren't ugly.
Ethan Holben
A fairly stable speaker stand, even on carpet with light speakers, when tilted it would wobble, but not fall over.
Rusty Sly
Overall, they are better quality than I expected for being the cheapest stands I could find.

I agonized over these or spending about 3 times as much and reluctantly took the plunge. I am glad I did, these are great stands, very stable, easy to adjust and aren't ugly.

One thing to note (for super-audiophiles), the feed have rubber knobs, not spikes. This would be easy to swap out, but just worth noting for the folks who care.

Buy with confidence.

Well these seem well constructed and fill the bill for me. Now about the plug in the bottom of the top tube. I found if You loosen the lockdown screw and partially extend the stand then give it a good pop to full open the plug falls out of the bottom. Then You can feed the wire thru the stand no problem. I tried it with all 4 of my stands, and everyone of them popped out no problem. Give it a try it was easy.

The main reason I bought these were to hold up to 2 M-Audio BX5 D2 studio monitors on either side of my computer desk (audio workstation) because my desk wasn't wide enough to put the speakers on. I figured if they were made for PA speakers, they should be able to handle a couple of studio monitors.

I was right, they work perfectly for studio monitors.

Before ordering these, I was a bit skeptical about getting these stands because they were so inexpensive, but don't let the price fool you, they are solid metal, and have bolts and bolt holes on the top and bottom for mounting.

The only gripe I had was that my studio monitors didn't have any holes on the bottom to bolt them to the tops of these stands, but I found a cheap and very effective fix: Velcro strips from the office supply store! Cost me $6. I just put the velcro hooks on the top of the stand and the velcro "fluff" on the bottom of my monitors and they stay put very well. Additionally, the nice thing about velcro is that you can pull the speakers off to adjust the angle, or take the monitors off completely, no bolts required.

Great value for the money, get them!

I purchased these stands for a set of Sony Bookshelf speakers, 9wx9dx20h. I anchored the speakers to the stand using the existing corner holes on the speaker rest. Put some noise dampening material between the speakers and the stand to avoid vibrations and they seem pretty stable at the lower end of their extension. There is no way to hide wires on these stands, I currently have wire wrapped around the pole portion like a candy cane then the wires go into my floor. The stands have rubber feet and they stand up pretty straight and that I'm happy about. Looks like you could change out the rubber feet to spikes if need be, but that is something I'm not interested in as they sit on a hardwood floor. For the price I can't complain, if you have a budget and don't mind exposed wires or if you feel like drilling the pipe then these might be the stands for you. Would I like something better?... yes, do I feel the need to spend the extra money for them?... no.

Was looking for inexpensive sturdy stands for rear computer speakers. Seemed this would fit the bill and received good reviews from others.

Pros: Seem sturdy not easily tipped over, able to conceal wires in poles (see cons for more) and inexpensive

Cons: Wire concealment is not very easily obtained! See pictures with comments - needed to puncture through thick plastic plug in bottom of pole in order to conceal wires. The plastic plug is not removable - I had to use a flat head screw driver and hammer and break the plastic away - otherwise this item is misleading in terms of the hidden wire. Only other gripe and this is probably more to do with the speaker design but the wire has to either be bent under the bottom of the speaker or the speakers have to sit on the edge of the stand not in the middle.

Overall, if you can deal with the thick plastic plug that has to be removed and your speaker wire is already centered under your speaker, I think you'll be pleased with this purchase.

Good Speaker Stands at an Affordable Price

This is just the stand I was looking for. They are reasonably affordable, adjustable, support the small speakers I have and look good.

The good: Affordable, adjustable, and good looking. Good for smaller light weight speakers.

The not so good: One of my stand's top plate was not quite level. I do not know if this is characteristic of the quality of manufacture or if my sample is an aberration. The speakers seemed well packed, so I do not think that the out of level top plate was due to shipping damage. It was not so bad that I returned the stands; however, I took off one star for this defect.

Notes: The stands are shipped with plugs in the bottom of the center tube. I was easily able remove the plug by pulling up sharply on the center tube. The plug popped right out. If one runs the speaker wire through the center tube, as I did, the speaker will not sit flat on the top plate unless one lifts the speaker enough to allow the wire to run under it. I used Blu-Tack Reusable Adhesive (available at Amazon.com) to lift the speaker up slightly and to lightly secure it to the top plate.
