What can I say, it's network cable! The price is what attracted me to this brand, and I wasn't expecting much given how cheap it was. But WOW! This is quality, the cable is the full 24AWG solid core made of pure copper, and the color-coding is probably the best I've seen (bright distinct color with good striping on the white/colored wires). The jacket is pure white, and has a good feel to it.

Anyone who has made network cables knows how much of a pain it is to fit the wire into the ends when it doesn't "behave" as it should. This wire has a very tactile feel to it, and when you bend and straighten the wires, they stay where you put them! This makes putting on ends much easier, and also fitting the wire into wall-jack punchdown conectors. I at no point over-stripped the wire (due to the rugged jacket), and had no breaks of the individual strands (which surprised me, I made over 50 perfect connections with this wire so far).

If you need a 1000ft spool of network wire, this is a great deal and is quality cable! Thanks VideoSecu!

edit: I'm noticing that this particular listing has been edited to a 500ft spool (it used to be 1000ft). The price has gone down, but not as much as I'd like to see for loosing half the quantity. Still, not a bad deal for quality solid copper cat5e.

As a WISP, we have purchased thousands of feet of this Cat 5e cable. The only shortcoming to this cable is that it is stiff and sometimes difficult to pull from the box. Especially in low temperatures (freezing or below). Otherwise, we have never had dead spots in the cable, where there is a break in a single wire strand. The cable is easy to straighten in order to insert in connectors. It is not specifically an "Outdoor" cable, but the white outer shell does hold up in outdoor applications well. In some cases, it has been in place for several years without case failure. Because it is solid wire, not stranded, it is stiff, but it is easily stapled in place in interior applications as well as run through walls. This is good wire once you get past the stiffness. It is cost effective.

I bought this cable primarily because of these "features." It was to be installed a theater so code issues and "rated" equipment matter. The cable I received came with neither the cable itself nor the box marked as CMR rated or UL listed. I can't say the cable wasn't capable of meeting those standards but I could not install it without the "proof" marked on the cable that it is rated and listed for the application. Electrical and fire inspectors need to see this. Amazon promptly accepted it back for a full refund.

Otherwise it did appear to be a decent quality cable as other reviewers have said. So torn between rating the perceived cable quality and the fact it wasn't as advertised for my application, I chose 3 stars.

I've used a lot of cat5e cable and this is as good as any I've purchased, The box is used as the feeder like a lot of them and will get jammed up from time to time but overall works well. The quality of the cable is good I've had no bad sections so far and I've done some long 100+ foot runs.

I purchased this product for a re-wiring project. It worked very well. The coil unwound out of the box without kinking. The "foot" markers stamped on the side of the wire are very helpful. I would purchase this product again.

I purchased this for a wiring project in my home. The cable is of good quality and is solid copper. No problems with gigabit speeds. I will fault the dispensing mechanism for occasionally becoming hung up. Definitely get some to help pull the cable from the box if running it between walls or ceilings. Otherwise the cable pairs are brightly colored and I'm overall pleased with my purchase.

This is the best wire I've ever used. I've made around 50 patch cables and ran the box just about out of wire wiring a 3000 square foot office from head to toe. I've tested every wire I've made from this box and they all perform perfectly. I'm not sure what else you could ask for.

Great cable! Very solid and better than other ones I've used better. I would more likely buy more of these as soon as I run out.

Wow, pure copper wire is worth it. I actually get the full transfer speed as apposed to CCA wire- I never got close. Easy to work with, and Id haven't had any bad sections yet. I would definitely recommend and will absolutely be buying more in the future.

This Cat5e cable is well priced and is solid copper. The one reason for the 4 verses 5 star rating is the cable is stiff and the wire is more difficult to work with than other Cat5e wire I have used. But for the price it gets the job done.
