What the description doesnt tell you is that the cameras are barely 5 inches long and made of a low grade plastic. However at the price, anyone can afford to just buy new ones if they get messed up by the wind or the sun destroys them.

They would probably be better as indoor cameras, esp in a spot where they cannot be reached and therefore discovered to be fake.

I dont think close inspection would reveal that they are fake without handling them. If someone were to handle it in any way they would probably suspect something isnt right. So in the right spot the camera's would be very convincing.

It is surprising how many people are detered if they think they are on camera. In this society, it is terrible that you can no longer leave the front door unlocked or have chairs on the deck. People don't want to work anymore, they rather take. I work too hard to have someone take my things. I have had so much success at my home, I got these for my vacation place.

The dummy cameras need "C" size batteries for the blinking red lights. Needs a longer life alternative. Skip the batteries.

I mean, they don't exactly look like something you'd expect to see in a heavy-duty security setting, but then again most real security cameras don't look 'real' to me, either. One nice touch on these is the cable - they actually use a real co-ax cable, so it looks very real (it is real). Haven't tried the red light, probably won't.

Put these up to deter break-ins. They look real to me and the blinking red light shows up well at night.

What you expect from a dummy? One of the cameras had a screw that did not unscrew. So I used 3 screws instead of 4.

They are pretty small, but look authentic enough. The worst part was that the hole in the mounting for the coax cable is not big enough. You have to strip the outer casing then it's too big. I used wire ties to hold the cable in place. A close inspection might reveal the cable issue, so mount high enough that they can't be inspected closely. I like the c cell batteries, as they should last a long time as LED's don't draw much power. I might have chosen a more expensive (no way these were discounted from $100+) option. Well, you get what you pay for, right?
