4.0 out of 5 stars Very stable and level, July 19, 2007

This stand was great. I had heard about some mounts not keeping the TV level as it is extended. This works great. One note.. do not buy this if you plan on swinging the TV in and out every time. You need to loosen the TV to go from fully collapsed to fully extended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my computer monitor!, August 19, 2007
I have looked all over trying to find a good deal for a wall mount monitor arm in black but the prices were way too high. This mount is perfect, the price was great, and the seller Classical Media & Fitness was excellent for customer service and speedy shipping. We have a 19" monitor on this. The arm installed easily-10 minutes from start to finish. I'd highly recommend this item to anyone looking for this type of product!

3.0 out of 5 stars A qualified endorsement..., July 31, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I used this mount for a 26" plasma tv that weighed 25 pounds (the specs for this mount say that it can handle a 26" tv of up to 33 pounds). Mounting it on the wall went smoothly and everything was fine until I attached the tv: the tv immediately tilted down about 15 degrees and I could not get it to stay upright no matter how tight I cranked the adjustment knob. I even made a large washer of gritty wire cloth that I inserted into the joint, but the weight of the tv even overcame this. I finally resolved this problem by cutting a block of hard plastic that was about 5/8" thick and siliconed it in the space between the tv mounting plate and the joint. While this fixes the flopping problem, it leaves you with a fixed orientation screen in terms of forward tilt. Bottomline: a job that should have taken 20 minutes took a lot longer until I figured out a fix.

On the plus side: good price; mounts securely on a single stud; very well constructed (except for the design of the locking joint); can be rotated so that the screen can be made absolutely horizontal (this is sometimes a problem on single articulated arms because there is a little bit of give in the joints).

I can recommend this only if you are mounting a lighter tv or monitor than mine, and/or you are handy enough to fabricate a block of the precise thickness needed to keep your screen at the angle you want. Also, if you move the tv in and out from the wall (I leave mine in one position), this fix will result in some modest change in tilt position when you push it against the wall, and that can't be changed because of the block.
