You will love the music of Vieja Trova Santiaguera. The troubadors based in Santiago, Cuba use guitars, percussion and vocals to richly blend and capture the 'son' style of music. The 'son' style has its roots in Afr0-Cuban music. The vocal phasings are elegant, distinct and melancholy.
The music of Vieja Trova Santiaguera is featured in the film Lagrimas Negras, "Black Tears" which is also highly recommended.
