AF, VIENTO A FAVOR,
This review is from: Viento a Favor (Audio CD)
I HAVE BEEN AN A. FERNANDEZ FAN SINCE HIS FIRST ALBUM. FROM THEN TILL NOW, I STILL STAND BY WHAT IVE THOUGHT, THAT HE IS THE BEST MALE VOICE IVE EVER HEARD. THIS ALBUM IS SPECIAL BECAUSE OF ITS FEEL, ITS DIFFERENT.
ITS UNIQUE. WHEN YOU LISTEN TO THE FIRST TRACK, YOU ARE WAITING ANXIOUSLY TO HEAR THE NEXT, ITS THAT GREAT.THE MUSIC IS BEAUTIFUL, AND WHEN YOU ADD ALEXS' VOICE, YOU HAVE GOT A PERFECT ALBUM, YOU HAVE GOT VIENTO A FAVOR.

He can just sing anything . . .,
This review is from: Viento a Favor (Audio CD)
. . . with this voice. This is definitely adult pop, the direction Alex's music has been taking for the last few years now. He's matured and so has his voice; it's much more resonant and you hear that better singing ballads and this type of smooth pop than the traditional mariachi music. Hard to pick a favorite here, but "Te Voy A Perder" and "Sin Consideracion" are the songs most likely to appeal across genres. Alex is sure to win some new fans with this mix. Even if you don't speak Spanish, he still makes you feel the mood of his songs and you will believe you understand what he's singing. He is La Voz (The Voice).

Alejandro, por favor....,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Viento a Favor (Audio CD)
I declined to review A CORAZON ABIERTO because I was disappointed, but at least Alejandro redeemed those songs on the live CD that followed.
Here I have to say I was more disappointed. Perhaps in a quest to widen his audience Alejandro has taken on lesser material which is not up to his truly amazing voice. Anyone who listens to this CD to hear him for the first time will not know what his fans rave about or why women throw their bras onstage when he performs. The breathiness of his singing on this CD omits 90% of his supberbly sexy lower register, which is one of the traits that wins female hearts and plays with their hormones. Those of us who fell in love with the voice we heard in "Morenita Mia" or "Granada" on his earlier live album almost don't recognize what we're hearing on this one in songs like "Tanto Amar" or "Solitario y Solo." Some of the songs on this CD are better suited to Ricky Martin and I felt that Beyonce ran roughshod over him in "Amor Gitana." I hope he realizes that expanding his repertoire should not alientate his core audience. We'd rather hear him try tango or flamenco, which would at least use the most emotive elements of his truly fine voice while adding to his mystique.
