This is the second recording of Argentine singer/songwriter Gabriela on the Intuition label. Like the first album (Detras del Sol),jazz guitarist Bill Frisell weaves his atmospheric textures around her soulful vocals, bringing us the feeling of wide open spaces. For those understanding Spanish, the lyrics are pure poetry (they are translated in English in the liner notes) and talk about life and states of mind and existence. Gabriela has a very distinctive style - her vocal expressions taking the listener through various ranges of emotions. The instrumentation features Gabriela herself on acoustic guitars and vocals, Bill Frisell on electric and acoustic guitars, along with violin, cello and bass. The arrangements are done by Bill Frisell and the album produced by Bill Frisell's producer, Lee Townsend. It is a must for anyone who enjoys "nueva cancion", the music of Bill Frisell, and simply music full of soul.

Argentine singer/songwriter Gabriela is a hidden treasure waiting to be discoverd. This magical cd soothes, heals and inspires the soul. Her lyrics take you through the inmensity of the Amazon river, the vastness of space, the exile of an Argentine "dirty war" political prisoner, an abandoned house full of forgotten stories, love, loneliness, seduction, and a red wind that blows you to faraway dreamlands. Her music seeps into your heart and traps it forever. Once you have this cd, you will never want to let it go!
