This is a brilliant and complex series of original tunes played by very talented featured players, particularly Joel Frahm, and backed by a fine group of winds. Valera is someone who is likely to take us to places we have not yet been. Highly recommended.

Great Music, July 17, 2008

A wonderful recording by Manuel. A really great pianist and composer melding the Latin and Jazz styles to create something really fresh. The melodies are memorable and the woodwind arrangements are very mature sounding and colorful. I like the way he uses all the instruments to enhance the music. Joel Frahm sounds great!! Every solo he plays is outstanding. I am very happy with this recording. Nice solos by Manuel as well.
