Good stuff... not German, but good anyways!,

My excitement in buying this book was the anticipation that it would reveal the methods and "secrets" of the old German breeders--the ones who were the first to breed Discus, neons, altum angels, various Apistos and so many more fishes. Unfortunately, it really isn't that. So, the title's a bit misleading. It is, however, a super over-all introductory book and I (a fish keeper for 15 years) learned some stuff. It is the kind of book that I would put VERY high on my list to recommend/lend to new-ish fish keepers. A total beginner could learn from it if they were committed, but it would be really good for someone who's done some fish keeping and wants to get better. Overall great book, just not really about "the way the Germans do it".
