Willis presents material in an organized fashion, featuring the large cities and giving an overview of the nation's past that still impacts the Vietnamese people as they strive toward the future. "Great Diversity" reveals the broad variety of plants and animals to be found. The chapter "Arts and Culture of Vietnam" is much more in-depth than the original. Full-color photographs and reproductions throughout depict a wide array of landscapes, from peaceful green rice paddies along a calm coastline to a deserted military airstrip, complete with a tinge of eerie orange. General readers and researchers alike will find this updated title to be rich in information and appealing in format.

Vietnam: Enchantment of the World covers a variety of aspects of life in Vietnam in a way that is engaging and easy to read. Highly recommended for ages 8+ ... even adults will learn from this well written book.
