This collection of essays attempts to anlayze the fictional, mythic and visual representations of the Vietnam War and considers their value in articulating historical truths. Each essay attempts to provide a starting point for further study. The subjects covered by the essays range from paramilitary culture, cinema and fine art to the imagery of the helicopter, poetry, comics, Rambo as warrior hero and the Vietnam Veterans' memorial.
