Ray Crawley is back in Hanoi after 20 years. It's an easy operation he thinks, at least that's how it started out. This is the final installment of the Crawley series, 20 years on from "Pokerface".

5.0 out of 5 stars the last Crawley, April 12, 2011
This review is from: The Vietnam Volunteer (Paperback)
The Vietnam Volunteer is the eighth and final book in the Ray Crawley series by Peter Corris. This book is set some twenty years after Pokerface. Ray Crawley is still working for the AFS and is sent to Vietnam some 25 years after being there during the war, to coordinate a trade delegation. He's expecting a junket, but things turn out quite differently when one of the party is found murdered in his hotel room. As the Vietnamese Police and the Security Force separately try to find the murderer, Ray has his own suspicions about the group's interpreter, the half-Vietnamese Kathy Truong. As always, Corris gives us believable characters and witty, occasionally humorous dialogue. The action is fast-paced and plot twists and turns. Another Corris winner.
