Product Description

Wow Vietnamese fresh spring rolls! Have you tried one? Bursting with flavors and such a tasty, delightful meal and snack. Simply combine some fresh veggies, protein and herb, roll them up and voila! Karen Cheng from San Francisco, CA and Thao Nguyen from Vietnam and Australia built Star Anise Foods (SAF) - //staranisefoods.com/ - from their love of Vietnamese noodle soups, particularly Pho, a traditional, healthy rice noodle soup. SAF is a newly founded San Francisco, California-based, woman-owned all natural dry foods company focused on bringing Vietnamese noodles soups to the US market. SAF's passion is to create sustainable and socially responsible opportunities for women in Vietnam with a singular focus to produce wholesome and natural products that encourage a healthy lifestyle in the US. Our first product, Happy Pho, developed from a traditional recipe of Thao's grandparents in the 1920s, combines noodles made of brown rice and green tea with a spice packet of all natural/organic spices. At 6 months pregnant, Karen travelled internationally to Vietnam to meet her partner Thao in June 2009 to start their company. They focused, worked 16-18 hour days, made a lot of Pho and launched their first generation of nutritious Vietnamese noodle soup products which should land on shelves of Northern California Whole Foods Stores in early 2010. A mom 'to be' in a few days, Karen is still cooking passionately in her San Francisco kitchen while her partner Thao continues to forge ahead their desire to strengthen and advance women and farmer enterprises. This dynamic dual has crazy passion for noodles but equally important, they want to change how food is produced and share their wholesome products with you. In this video Thao shows you how to make delicious Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls with these wrappers in 3 minutes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roJ2Vyn_oY8&feature=youtu.be

Easy to work with.

Aside from that these are great wrappers, love using them for spring/summer rolls with shrimp/basil veggies and peanut sauce!

Unlike white rice wrappers, these taste like real food.

Ever since I was introduced to non-fried, fresh spring rolls at a Vietnamese restaurant, I've been obsessed with them. Immediately I started experimenting and making them at home. I have bought a variety of brands from Asian markets to Whole Foods and they are decent, but I've always been a bit bothered by the fact that they are made from white rice which is not nearly as nutritious as brown rice. I did not think brown rice wrappers existed!

Once again Amazon comes through for the consumer and gives us access to great products like these superior spring roll wrappers! I didn't think they'd actually taste much different or better than the white rice wrappers I usually buy, but I was SO wrong. These wrappers are delicious--they taste fresher, are not gummy or thick like the white rice wrappers (my husband LOVES them and whenever we make spring rolls for friends, they rave about them). Also, the ingredients are superior--they are made from premium whole brown rice, unlike the white rice wrappers which are made from "white rice flour" which makes a big difference on so many levels--taste to nutrition.

I also read about this company which was started by two women. They are a small company; they are ethical and care about the quality of their products and farmers that they deal with...unusual in this day and age.

One more thing! Don't be afraid to make these at home! You can fill these wrappers with anything! Simply dip the wrap in a bowl of water for a few seconds, lay it on a table and fill! I dip 2 wrappers in water at a time (much faster) and spoon in everything from chopped veggies and tempeh to noodles and tofu. They are simply delicious.

If you looking for a healthier ( in my opinion anyway : ) alternative to the white rice wraps, you've found it here in these wraps ! I've been making raw wraps like they're going out of style since I got them, and enjoy them for lunches AND dinners several times a week ! You can stuff just about anything that floats your boat inside ! I just placed my second order, and now I can't imagine how I ever got along with out them. If you're a Veg head..or not..and just want something easy, AND fun to make, where you can use your creativity to make wraps a hundred different ways..well, maybe not 100, that are yummy, low cal, and nutritious..look no further !!! Give these a try, you won't be disappointed : ))

I love how few ingredients are used to make this. The texture is only slightly thicker/sturdier than the traditional white rice wrappers, but not enough to deter me. The summer rolls taste just as good as they do with the traditional wrappers (and I'm Vietnamese, so I grew up with summer rolls and rice paper). The price may seem daunting but there's about 25 wrappers per pack, so I think it's a great deal!

I was looking for spring roll wrappers to fry spring rolls. I found that people were using spring roll wrappers without cooking them. We prepared the ingredients, and then assembled the raw spring roll a little different each time. They are great with avocado, cream cheese, celery, carrots, chili sauce, seasoned rice, shrimp, meat, or no meat. It is kind of like assembling your taco the way you like. The more people, the more fun.

I would have given these wraps 5 stars, but for the price (compared to our store), I think it could be better.

The wraps tasted great, much better than the regular. However, there are much fewer wraps per package than what I was expecting, many of the wraps had cracks in them... minor cracks, but they made it difficult to roll up wraps.

If these were organic, I wouldn't have complained about the price/quantity. I'm fairly happy with these, but looking for an organic source in bulk.

I love this! I am looking to toss out the rest of the white rice ones that I have, but feel like it would be wasteful. I like the flavor of this and how it's exactly like the white ones in thinness but healthier. For some reason I feel like it is actually more tasty than the white ones. I am a huge fan and hope that more people with buy the product to increase demand and production. I'd like to see these out in the stores.

If you like Spring Rolls, try these. No wheat, more healthy, and delightfully chewy. My wife and I use these exclusively. If we run out, we do without Spring Rolls until we are re-stocked. We have ordered these many times.
