This review is from: Bay View Herring in Cream Sauce, 65 Ounce Jar (Misc.)
BAY VIEW HERRING IN CREAM SAUCE tastes exactly like the herring used to eat as a child! I decided to get the 65 OUNCE JAR, because it saves about 12% over getting the same herring in two smaller jars, also on sale here on Amazon. The herring, the sour cream, and the enclosed onion slices, are all in just about the same proportion that still sells at New York City supermarkets...but at a far lesser price. Totally scrumptious, totally -- dare I say it? -- divine!
It's fascinating -- that the Vita Herring that I ate growing up in New York, and this Wisconsin-made Bay View Herring, taste exactly the same -- both SO yummy! A culinary leap for seeing everyone for what they are -- a fellow human being -- and the similarities in all people, and not the differences! This is a certainty, proved by the taste, and definitely an added bonus for this yummy stuff! I bought some other herring, (in wine sauce), but, though it was tasty, did not like it as much. Needless to say, I still have much of the herring-in-wine-sauce left.....but not much of this wonderful herring-with-sour-cream-(and onion rings), left! No problem, I guess...just put the other herring in this big jar, and add extra sour cream and onions! After the fish is finished, this LARGE, (glass!) bowl, (cleaned and scrubbed, of course, with soap and with clorox), will make a wonderful new home for my little betta fish! But, if I could only keep magically refilling it....with herring and buy a SECOND jar for my pet.....! Oh well, take some out / And pass the Herring.... It's delicious / And gives thought / For dreaming and daring / At least for me / And others / Of imagination / Too! / If you like sour cream and herring / Of any other brand / You'll like this one -- true! Happy eating!
