You'll get several B/W photos taken from kites, a number of diagrams giving some detail about a couple of camera holder set-ups and some bits about triggering your camera once you have it airborne. The photos and drawings aren't greatly detailed, neither is the text but I did learn a little about how to hang a camera (no info on choosing a camera to fly with)from a kite. I'd like more information to consider this book to be of great value, including a bibliography of those "too technical" books.

This is an interesting book... not something I ever would have imagined myself reading, but I was considering giving it to my brother as a gift and that is why I got it.

Who the book is for:

Hardcore photographers who want to try something different.

What I liked:

This book is very in depth and shares just how much work kite aerial photography takes.

What I didn't like:

This book is very thin and not really gift worthy.

My conclusion:

I didn't try anything out of this book, so I can't testify to if it really works or not, but I do think the instructions were thorough, and it sounds like it would work.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

I received this book free to review from Dorrance Publishing Co. The opinions expressed in this review are my true thoughts and feeling regarding this book. I am disclosing this information in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.

For $9 I cannot expect too much. If the book cost more I'd given it a 1-2 star rating.

The book is filled with low quality and rather uninteresting B&W photos. I'd rather have more technical information and instruction than this filler. The book does give instruction on crude triggering devices and creating a Picavet--perhaps the most useful information.
