Kings of Progressive Electronica,

This review is from: View From a Throne (Audio CD)
Just when I was getting used to how good the Inferno album was, I found a copy of View From a Throne. The title track pretty much blew me away. I actually can't find a bad track on it. I really like the way they released Inferno as an album but with the singles being their own mini-albums. All together it is like one big double album. I have noticed that they have been doing more German-sung tracks than in the past. The cool thing is, you are so wrapped up in the depth of the music that sometimes you don't even really notice. If you like Inferno, than I would very strongly recommend that you pick up both this and the other single, Trialog. Between the three releases, I think that this is easily some of the best material the band has ever written. It takes all the strengths from past albums and pushes it to a new level. This fan is impressed.

I bought this CD about a year ago and I still listen to it because it's so good (I'm listening to it now as I'm writing this review.) Each song on this CD is different from the others, so you won't feel like you're listening to the same song over and over again. The lyrics are great and really make you think. The music is exceptionally well done and the band makes great use of interesting instruments and sounds. The CD exudes a somber, moody quality which makes it all the better. When I first heard this CD, the songs that stood out the most for me were 'View From a Throne,' 'Corpus Hermeticum (Body/Spirit),' 'Outside,' and 'Metamorphosis.' 'View From a Throne' has a very enchanting sound to it and sounds very surreal. 'Corpus Hermeticum (Body/Spirit)' is a darker song which really puts you in the mood and makes you want to sing along with it because of the brooding vocals. 'Outside' features an interesting piano melody and a great chorus. Last we have 'Metamorphosis,' which is a slightly more upbeat song with a great chorus and a punchy guitar riff near the end of the song. Now if Kaskade would hurry up and come out!
