Product Description

The ViewHD VHD-H2HA unit has one HDMI input, one HDMI output and one 3.5mm stereo audio output. It has a mini USB power input for power in case the HDMI video source does not provide sufficient power to run it. A USB cable is included. Please always the USB cord to provide sufficient power & solid ground to run it for stability and performance. USB charger is not included.

This small gadget can extract the digital 2CH PCM stereo audio signal from the HDMI input and convert it to 2CH analog stereo output through its 3.5mm stereo jack. The HDMI output has audio and video signals. Therefore, by using this converter, user can extract the 2CH audio signal from the HDMI link with the original setup.

Again, the 3.5mm stereo output has sound only if the audio format in the HDMI signal is 2CH PCM. This is not a decoder, so if the audio signal in the HDMI is 5.1CH surround or above, the 3.5mm audio output will not have sound.

ViewHD One Year Warranty.

Works just like the ad says. . . .

I ordered the device because I was annoyed with a short cracking sound the Raspberry Pi makes whenever it starts its analog audio signal.

Using this to hook my game consoles up to my monitor and passing the sound to my computer speakers.

I purchased this to pull the audio from my Roku 3. Whether the external usb power is hooked up or not, it will only support 720p resolution. Bypassing this box, 1080p works flawlessly.

I wanted to use my laptop to drive a projector and also some external speakers for the sound. The intent was to watch movies from my laptop. Unfortunately, when you plug in the HDMI cable, the sound gets sent via HDMI to the projector which has no audio out jack. This little box let me plug an mini-jack in and get the audio out of the HDMI signal...

I bought this to get analog audio from my Chromecast and Raspberry Pi. It turns out that the sound quality is very poor.

This did exactly what it was supposed to. The HDMI sound decoder in my TV was flaking out, so I checked to see if these units even existed. I got this one, plugged it inline with no external power source, and ran the sound output to my receiver. Zero problems since installation.

ViewHD HDMI to HDMI + Analog Audio Converter, delivered on 2012-08-08,
immediately and little bit chaotic checked - but works as expected!

My TV-Set is still an early 32 inch LCD model with only DVI input and analog
RCA-type inputs for audio signals, the audio must be connected using additional cable.
The switching between signal sources, like SAT-Receiver, DVD player, etc.
is a nightmare: it needs two separate switches!!!
Now, with the HDMI-Audio Extractor, the sources are switched using
only one HDMI switch. In my dreams I've seen such box long before,
and now - dream is true, perfect product!

Regards - P.Soukup, Vienna, Austria.

I brought two of these hoping they would allow me to run the audio ports through the ZONE 2 option of my ONYKO receiver.

They work great for that, and still allow the picture of whatever is being CAST.

HOWEVER, the sound doesn't come out of the main speakers now (except for a few seconds). I am not sure if the split is designed to divert the sound or split in into two. I am ideally looking for something that takes the chrome cast and allows me to use ZONE 2 (analog) as well as main zone. To be honest, the chrome cast is lacking an analog feature which would solve this.

After initially installing this device I found it would not allow output from my PS3 in 1080. Nervously I went to the web address listed in the brief manual to find the company out of business. However I noted the short section warning about splitting HDMI signal. After putting in a splitter that used a power cable I have had no trouble since. The output to my cheapo amp works perfectly.

This device works perfectly for its intended use. I wanted to be able to listen to my head phones in bed so that I don't keep my wife up. I hooked it up to the HDMI cable that was coming from the cable box. The volume was very, very loud, too loud to listen to or let my wife sleep.

I had to purchase a separate volume control adapter. I have a long stereo cable running from the HDMI adapter, then the volume adapter, then my head phones. It actually works well because I can leave the TV volume on very low to create some white noise and then control the volume with the adapter. The volume adapter I purchased on Amazon was around $15, so that was a little annoying, but overall it's working out great.
