5.0 out of 5 stars Owner and Happy
Picked one up for Christmas, and like the previous review, I have found nothing I have yet that won't plug right into it. I use it in my study / office and all visitors so far have commented about the picture and the sleek design. The price is right for a smaller HD TV.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so good TV unless you are in a BRIGHT room!
Bought this last November to use as a TV mostly in a darkened room at night. Not the right set for that because Viewsonic left off a crucial control for any LCD TV - BACKLIGHT adjustment. The backlighting is so bright you cannot get more than a gray for blacks. Try to adjust the "brightness" and you crush the blacks in the image into the gray.

The LCD panel is...

4.0 out of 5 stars A really useful monitor, December 12, 2007
This review is from: ViewSonic NX1932w 19-inch Wide Diamani Duo Monitor (Electronics)
What makes this monitor interesting is that you can use it in a lot of different ways. It has a PC hook-up, HDMI, S-video, and more. You can jack in your cable, your PC, and a video game console, and use the input button to easily switch between them. If you're in a dorm room or studio apartment, one display can be your TV and your computer monitor - you just can't watch TV while you're checking your email. It looks attractive enough, and the price is pretty good (remember - two for the price of one!). It's not the most beautiful picture I've ever seen - but not bad at all. You're buying convenience and form, not the centerpiece of a grand home theater. It's a huge step up from a regular CRT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy, January 28, 2008
This review is from: ViewSonic NX1932w 19-inch Wide Diamani Duo Monitor (Electronics)
Monitor is great. I bought this for my wife's computer in the bedroom. Lots of input types, and picture is quite good. Monitor supports a zillion resolutions, but we're viewing at 1440 x 900 and it looks fantastic. As an HDTV we've had no problems either.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so good TV unless you are in a BRIGHT room!, August 8, 2008
This review is from: ViewSonic NX1932w 19-inch Wide Diamani Duo Monitor (Electronics)

The LCD panel is 16:10 not 16:9 as stated in some Viewsonic info. This is typical with this size TV. However Viewsonic did not provide a 16:9 aspect ratio with the picture settings, so everything is slightly squeezed with geometric distortion, and the limited "Zoom" modes are useless to correct for that.

Also the panel is very inconsistent with the amount of light leakage and hotspots all around the edge, and bad light leakage at the top and bottom of the panel. The tiny (tinny) speakers can barely keep up without an odd resonant buzzing. They are very weak. No auto volume, limited tone controls, no "surround" mode.

Another real annoyance for late night viewing is the bright blue power indicator light behind the power button on the front. No way to turn that off in a menu setting. I had to put a piece of black tape over it to make it tolerable.

I just bought a Samsung LN19A330 to replace it. The Samsung has adjustable backlighting, a 16:9 display ratio with other useful picture settings, and the audio is much better. I will be selling the Viewsonic at a loss. I will give Viewsonic credit for one thing, they did offer to swap it or give me trade-up credit for another Viewsonic TV, but I would have to go to a much larger size to get adjustable backlight, and I need a 19" size to fit in a limited space.

5.0 out of 5 stars Diamani Duos Under-rated, September 15, 2009

This review is from: ViewSonic NX1932w 19-inch Wide Diamani Duo Monitor (Electronics)
I'm not entirely sure how this gem of a television/monitor flew under the radar, so I'm writing this to tout its glories. For starters, let me just say that if you're looking for the absolute top-tier hdtv experience, keep looking. However, it must be noted that the image quality you receive is largely based on the type of connection you use. For example, my satellite programming must traverse an excessively long length of coaxial cable to the satellite box to my Tivo box and then to the actual tv itself via coax cable once again so that picture is rather grainy; however, when used as a monitor, even with a communications port to DVI adapter, the picture is still absolutely stunning! I don't own any devices that utilize HDMI at the moment, but logic dictates that it can only be better still. Of course the real beauty of this set is the multitude of connections making it simple to switch from one device to the next with the press of a button, just like a built-in switch box. There are 6 connections in all including: coax, composite and component AV, S-video, DVI and HDMI. All packed in a sleek, widescreen black box and for the DIY'er, there are joints on the back for wall mounting. I've been using this set as my regular television and computer monitor for over a year now and can't complain one bit.

Some other thoughts: some people complain of the sound quality on this set, but that's to be expected of almost all stock speakers; if you're looking for a surround sound experience, invest in an appropriate system and run the audio through that. Also there is a 22" version of this same product for a little extra; this model is more than adequate for a bedroom or office though, probably not for the living room. Oh, one little quirk that might catch some people off-guard: when in use, the power light shines bright blue; when turned "off" the light changes to a subdued orange and as far as I can tell there's no way to disable this feature although it's not bright enough to bother me, it might be an issue for some.

1.0 out of 5 stars N1932w vs N1930, April 22, 2009
This review is from: ViewSonic NX1932w 19-inch Wide Diamani Duo Monitor (Electronics)
This is a terrible monitor for Cable TV. It's analog picture is grainy. The N1930 has a great analog and digital tuner. I had trouble with the sound cutting out when an external speaker was attached. The sound went out when changing channels.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good TV for small spaces, August 17, 2008
This review is from: ViewSonic NX1932w 19-inch Wide Diamani Duo Monitor (Electronics)
I purchased this television as an open box item at an unbelievable price. Here are my thoughts.

This unit looks sleek out the box. Shiney and a nice design. This TV was purchased for the computer room and it fits nicely. The picture is eh. It's not horrible, but its not perfect. HD looks 10x better on this TV than regular cable. This could be due to my local cable provider and their weak signal. At times, you can see the screen refresh and the contrast could be higher. The remote is fairly large for having but 32 buttons. Overall I'd give this a 4 due to the image quality (non HD) and the large remote :)

1.0 out of 5 stars Not quite what you think ..., April 2, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ViewSonic NX1932w 19-inch Wide Diamani Duo Monitor (Electronics)
Great pixels .... Wide .. but not wide enough. images in standard and wide view appear compressed. Sound quality is terrible ... very tinny.

Returned the first one, it couldn't hold HDMI image connection.

Second one had same sound issue and SVGA lost color. Much better buying a Samsung.
