The Vx710's 1,280 x 1,024 maximum resolution and 0.264 mm dot pitch results in crisp, accurate images, while a 450:1 contrast ratio and 300 cd/m2 of brightness make text and graphics easy to see. The 25 ms video response time means that motion graphics are reproduced at broadcast quality, making this an ideal choice for gaming, watching DVDs, and much more. Excellent quality, but perhaps not the best deal around,
By MHunter "MHunter" (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: ViewSonic OptiSync Vx710 17" LCD Monitor (Electronics)
I went with this 17" LCD over a comparably priced 19" because of its feature set and preceived quality. I was not dissappointed in that regard.I received the monitor with zero dead or stuck pixels. It is very bright, more than the competition, and has a superb contrast ratio. The viewing angle is average, but sufficient. I did not buy it based on its looks, though it is a sleek and nice looking unit. That just wasn't a concern of mine. It has performed flawlessly thus far, the picture is clear and sharp in its native resolution, no ghosting, the most minimal lighting along screen edge, and, like I said, no dead pixels. $50 less and it would get 5 stars, given that larger screens are available too close to this price. However, I don't mind paying for the quality, and would purchase it again.

Over 20 dead pixels and no DVI cable,

This review is from: ViewSonic OptiSync Vx710 17" LCD Monitor (Electronics)
I got a defective unit that had over 20 dead pixels. Took 3 weeks to ship, now I have to wait another 2-3 weeks to get a replacement. This also does not come with a DVI cable. AND not all DVI cables will fit under the lower back panel door. I bought a cable at an online auction website and it doesn't fit so now I have to buy another one.
