Blurry??? where??? Best Bang for the Buck!!!!,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ViewSonic P95F+B 19" CRT Monitor (P95F+B-2, Black) (Electronics)
The Good: Great bang for the buck. There is Still no LCD that can match it for picture quality, and speed. The color reproduction is wonderful. The multi brightness is a good feature, but I do not think I will be using that to often. Almost invisible aperture bar grilles across screen. It can keep up with the best of todays video cards. I do not see any blur in text, except at MAX resolution, then it starts to go around the edges. But then again I do have a ATI 9800 256xt video card, and that could make a difference. The bad: Like so many others have stated the base is not easy to attach and a little flimsy. It takes awhile to get your settings set up, but the end results are worth it. you really have to spend some time getting your color alignment right. this makes a difference at higher resolutions also. I personally find the little birds in the corner, the tag in the other corner and the ViewSonic nameplate a bit distracting, so I had them airbrushed to match the case. OVERALL: Great bang for the buck. This is a great monitor for a home user that spends some time in Photoshop, does home movie editing, and a gaming. Just a wonderful all around monitor.

Awesome Monitor,

This review is from: ViewSonic P95F+B 19" CRT Monitor (P95F+B-2, Black) (Electronics)
I bought the ViewSonic P95F+B 19" CRT Monitor two weeks ago. This is the first ViewSonic monitor I have owned and I couldn't be more pleased. The speed that it draws the screen (refresh rate) is very fast compared to other monitors. If you have to wait for your monitor to draw the screen while surfing the internet, you'll appreciate this monitors speed and choice of resolutions. The ultrabrite settings are wonderful when you want to brighten up the screen. My monitor is next to a window that has a lot of sunshine coming in, and the 3x brightness setting is perfect for contrast and being able to see the monitor clearly. All text and pictures are sharp and clear with no distortion. Colors are rich and vibrant. Of the many monitors I have used this is by far the best. The monitor controls will need to be adjusted, along with display controls in Windows XP when setting it up. After setting it up, be prepared to be dazzled. Newegg.com has a lot of positive reviews for this monitor, but I got the best price from Amazon. I wasn't sure that I would like to have a black monitor, but this is a sleek looking beauty. Awesome monitor!!

This review is from: ViewSonic P95F+B 19" CRT Monitor (P95F+B-2, Black) (Electronics)
Having only used 17" normal CRTs up until now I had a hard time choosing which 19" flat panel to get. Although all of the possible choices were plagued by complaints about "blurry sections" or "missing pixels" I eventually decided on this one and I have not regretted it for a second. For the record, I was also seriously considering a Philips 109B, which is a bit cheaper if cash is a big issue. The bad: One other reviewer mentioned a blurry section southwest of centre. This is true, I also have this, however as soon as I raised the monitor to 75Hz it disappeared (or became to slight for me to notice). Also, the settings do require a bit of fine tuning, I find that the shape of the screen tends to change VERY slightly over time and has to be readjusted once a fortnight or so. Third, the base, as others have mentioned, is hard to attach. My simple solution to this is to simply rest the monitor on the base without clipping it in. Unless you are continually lifting the monitor this works without problems. Finally, due to the aperture grille there are two very fine horizontal lines about 1/5 and 4/5 of the way up the screen. This makes no difference during games but I can see how it could get irritating while reading text. The Good: Both text and games are great. I find the text crisp for both white on black and black on white which makes surfing the net (and writing this review) easier on the eyes. Games are also done well, the brightness controls are very convenient especially, allowing me to change from games to text easily. TV (which I have running through this comp.) also turns out well. The subtler shape controls/degauss/moire etc. are what is to be expected and allow easy management when one needs to make fine shape adjustments. Overall: In my opinion, a great buy. Admittedly I am a first timer to 19" Flat Screens, but nevertheless I highly recommend this.
