Pay for... basically. I've had this since December, nevermind that i ordered it in the middle of November... but anyway, (Since Dec2010).

It worked great for about 3 days, after that the image started getting rainbow-colored with lots of greens and purples surrounding all parts of an image. I wanted to return it but company wanted me to pay shipping. That's why...

I have to say that when I saw the price, I was a little leary in terms of whether to take a chance as many of the 'pico' pocket projectors are selling in this price range. I recently finished my basement for a mancave and was looking for a good way to watch football games, Blu ray movies and play video games. This particular Viewsonic was the solution to all of those issues - all without breaking the budget.

I currently have my PS3 running to the projector with the help of a VGA to HDMI converter (also purchased on Amazon - HDFury2) and absolutely could not be more pleased. The image side is approimately 150" diagonally and there would be no way without this product I would be able to accomplish the same thing with a regular HDTV.

The unit offers many different configurations which are easily manipulated through the options menu. The only draw back I have seen of this unit was that it has no HDMI inputs, thus causing me to buy an adapter to make things work. Other than that, I think this is one of the best deals on Amazon if you are looking to go home theatre!

I have been really impressed with the brightness and clarity of this projector. It is super bright even with natural light. It also looks great hooked up to an xbox 360. Very please so far- I'll update if there is anything I'm unhappy with.

**Update** March 10th
Still very pleased with this projector- would highly recommend it to anyone looking for one. Zero Problems, I use it all of the time and have no complaints.

Received projector in just a few days. Came in box which can also serve as a carrying case. Projector is quiet and gives a great picture in a bright room. I have had problems in the past with images being seen in a bright room, but not with this projector. Remote control is easy to use. I just plugged projector into my laptop and it worked great without having to do any type of setup. I am using windows 7.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome projector, March 9, 2011

This was my first projector purchase and I couldn't be more pleased. I took advice from another review on here and purchased a VGA to HDMI recorder. I've connected this projector to my DIRECTV receiver, my Xbox 360, and my PC and they all look great. The only thing with projectors in general is I can't seem to get 3D out of it quiet yet. Won't work with DIRECTV receivers, hard to find downloadable content on the net as well. Right now I'm waiting for a Blueray PC disk drive to see if I can pull it that way. Otherwise this is a great buy. I do have a set of separate speakers for the audio. I live in an apartment and was a little worried how this was all going to work. My projector is on a 3.5 foot shelf I built that sits right behind my couch. I have about an 84" image and it's simply amazing. I make low budget films and this thing is great to edit on.

Great buy and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of getting a home theater system going. It's quiet and nice and durable. When I tried a 1080p movie on it, it did start to dis-color. Not sure if it's the projector of the converter. Either way 1080i Star Wars Episode I II & III on Spike TV, wow, just awesome.

Get one/

Other gear I have that I have connected with it/
50 FT VGA Cord
Female VGA TO VGA adapter
The Xbox 360 VGA cord
A few other little adapters for audio/

Pay for...

That's why I never go through anyone other than an Amazon warehouse usually, but the price was right. I didn't wind up sending it back, turned out the video wire was loose, and that fixed the problem. Now, it is August (almost September) 2011. Ever since a month ago every time you fire it up the bulb flickers all sorts of random colors for 5 minutes then returns to normal (every single time). This morning went to turn it on and the bulb flickered and shut down completely at 1100 hours with clean normal operation. I'm real disappointed. I expected more out of it. At least the DLP chip didn't fail I guess. Colors on this projector also suck. Blues and reds get amplified no matter where you set the color corrections. Tail lights on a car look like they are the center of attention in every movie scene if you know what I mean where as everything else is dark... Also the green winds up being gray on a lot of scenes. Hopefully I can get it repaired still, otherwise I'll be out a projector, and I really wish I sent it back 3 days after I had it and ordered another Optoma HD20 instead...

I purchased this for my husband for watching movies. We don't own a tv and this has really changed our movie experience (watching movies on a 12" laptop is pretty lame).
The picture quality is very good and it's bright enough to watch movies during the day. I also purchased a De-Lite mountable screen from Amazon for $50 to go with the projector. We're now the go-to house for movie watching!
