This replaced a 19" Viewsonic from 2007 which I was very happy with but I wanted a larger one that could display two browser screens side by side that I could easily see from two feet away. This 24" Viewsonic does it perfectly. I run this on a Windows 8 computer and the picture is beautiful and flawless.

The monitor came well packaged, I took it out of the box, plugged in the VGA cable that was still attached to the computer from the old monitor, plugged in the power cord, adjusted the resolution to 1920x1080 and it was ready to use. No color, tint, contrast, or other adjustment was needed.

It came with a disk to install Viewsonic drivers and a Viewsonic monitor control app. It did not have the ones for Win 8 and I didn't bother to download the ones from their website because the drivers and control app that came with Win 8 worked fine for me. The computer is a Lenovo Intel I5 with the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel app that handles the monitor adjustments just fine.

The monitor has built in speakers of OK quality but I don't use sound with this machine and would have been just as happy if there were no speakers.

The monitor is fully adjustable for tilt, height, pivot, and swivel. This was very important to me and many of the competitors' comparably priced units don't offer this. This monitor is exactly 22 inches wide and 17.75 inches high from the bottom of the base at the lowest height setting.

I also like the fact that it came with a three year warranty from Viewsonic.

I've had this monitor for three days now and am very happy with it and am glad that I didn't have to do any messing around to set it up.

02/04/13. I have these additional comments since my initial review. I have tried the adjustment buttons in the lower right front of the monitor and they all work properly. There is an input selector option to allow a switch between input on the VGA, DVI, or Displayport ports.

One minor item that is missing on this unit is the two cord keepers that my other two Viewsonics have. These are the keepers that bundle the cords and let them run down the back of the upright part of the stand. No big deal, but it would have been nice to have them included.

My new Viewsonic VG2439M-LED 24" monitor arrived in good shape and was a snap to set-up and install. I had the occasion to contact Viewsonic's technical support twice to address a minor issue concerning blurry text when connected via the DVI cable. Text was sharp and clear when connected via the VGA cable. The first tech support individual came across as borderline rude or almost curt I might say. The second was a young lady who seemingly showed more interest in trying to resolve the blurred text isssue, but only left me with suggestions like try connecting a different computer, etc. As it turned out the problem originated from a corrupt device driver related to my computers video card (nVidia 7600GT) which I determined myself. Neither of those two tech support individuals at Viewsonic mentioned or even considered my video cards driver as a possible suspect which now, after the fact, strikes me as odd. So, the moral of my story is the monitor itself is 1st class, well made, well designed and delivers stunning image quality all coupled with a user friendly OSD that a child could understand and navigate. However, having come from the computer industry myself, my opinion of my only two exposures thusfar with Viewsonic's technical support ....... is that I'm not all that impressed. Could be the first tech fellow was just having a bad hair day?

After a great experience with the VP-2770, I needed a smaller, more basic monitor for another less used Mac. This 22" fit the bill. It has Displayport which means no adapters. The picture and text are clear and there were no dead pixels. When looking for new monitors, Viewsonic has become my vendor of choice. They offer Displayport on a lot of models, and their quality is excellent.

The antiglare coating makes colors and text less vibrant and sharp. Compared to an HP Elite monitor, the monitor's screen is not as bright or sharp. However, several adjustments are available to improve the image appearance. Otherwise, a quality product

Great monitor, but uneven from top to bottom slightly. I do lots of critical color corrections and you have to have your head slightly above just the top of monitor for even viewing. Overall a great deal for the price. Also, you can't get the minimum desired 72 Hz refresh rate at full resolution. Your brain can see the refresh but not your eyes, so it is critical to have at least 72 Hz refresh rate if you are doing a lot of graphics so you don't get headaches at the end of every day.

I bought this monitor for use with a Macbook Pro, primarily for video editing and 3D modeling applications. The picture is very sharp and clear, and the overall quality of the unit was solid. I returned it for exchange, however, because I was unable to get acceptable white balance even after manual calibration, and because I found the menu buttons to be really difficult to use (others have raised the button issue here as well, if I recall).

The unit is very lightweight, the bezel is thin and unobtrusive, and it offers good display brightness if you have to use it in a high ambient lighting environment. I only gave this unit three stars, but understand that my evaluation is against my own requirements. For ordinary office productivity apps, this would probably be an excellent choice.

I like my older ViewSonic VG2228wm-LED, but I like this one even more. In my opinion, this one fixes several weaknesses in the VG2228. In particular, the VG2239 display stand attaches to the display using the standard VESA approach, and the maximum height is high enough so I can put the VG2239 behind my Lenovo W520 laptop and extend my desktop onto the VG2239. As with the VG2228, the brightness, contrast, color, etc. is fine for the software development work I do.

I used to get Samsung SyncMasters for this sort of work, but they stopped making the ergonomic stands.

The screen is what you would expect in terms of resolution. I choose this model due to the extra display port options, USB and speaker function.
I replaced a similar Hanns G monitor that lasted 8 years. I am disappointed at the speakers on this monitor, they really are rubbish. Better sound sound out of my fridge alarm. The volume is too low and the sounds is just too Tinny. The Price point makes it hard to completely knock this product so its just ok.
