Ergonomic Design Made for Comfort and Productivity

Transform your working environment! ViewSonic's high-performance LED monitor is ergonomically designed to offer users the flexibility they need to increase their productivity and comfort. Design features include 120° swivel, 90° pivot, 0-5.9" (0-150mm) height, and -5° to 23° tilt adjustments, allowing the screen a greater range of movement.

Eco-mode Conserves More Energy

ViewSonic's proprietary Eco-mode function is built into all LED displays, offering options to "Optimize (80%)" or "Conserve (65%)". Both modes reduce display brightness and conserve up to 35 %* energy. Especially in low ambient light, Eco-mode adjusts brightness and improves visibility while reducing eye fatigue and prolonging the display's lamp life. With Eco-mode, lamp replacement expenditures are reduced while practicing eco-friendliness.

VESA-Mountable

The VP2772  features a 100 x 100mm VESA-mountable design that allows you to mount the display on a monitor stand or on a wall, depending on your specific needs. You can easily detach the base by unscrewing four screws and then mounting the display on its new stand or wall mount.

Pros:
Amazing color accuracy! I thought my old VP2365 had decent colors, but next to this monitor, the colors look so far off I want to buy a calibration tool. The calibration report I received was much better than E<3. In Adobe RGB mode, only 1 of the grays even touched the E=2 line, all other colors were E<2.

2560x1440 pixels in a 27" monitor makes for a good pixel density. This helps the edges of objects look smoother and less pixelated/jagged.

Fast response time. This might not be the fastest monitor for a first person shooter, but it's not bad. The total input lag (<20ms) + response time (~16ms) is around 35ms, which is only 2 frames at 60fps (there could be very minor ghosting, but I have not tested).

Fully adjustable base (tilt, twist, swivel, height).

Looks great. The display itself has a slim bezel. Unlike the picture, my monitor has the model number in the upper right corner, and the ViewSonic name in the lower middle is extremely faint. The only led (in the lower right corner) is a nice blue color, and faint (this can even be turned off in the OSD menu). The stand looks elegant, and I love all the adjustability. The front spokes on the stand are twice as long as the back one and stick on rather far, but they are thin so It's easy to place speakers and such around them.

Compatible with displayPort, DVI, HDMI (HDMI can only go up to 1920x1200(?) due to bandwidth limitations).

Cons:
My main complaint is the vertical viewing angles. The horizontal viewing angles look good, but there is a major contrast/color shift on the vertical viewing angles (from around 15°-45°). This is similar to what I see with most TN panels. It's disappointing to have such a contrast shift on a nice IPS panel.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
For over two years, I've had a 27" 2560x1440 Apple Thunderbolt Display on my desk; I must have stared at it for thousands of hours in that time. Conceptually, it's similar to this VP2772 I have sitting on my desk right now, they are the same size and resolution, both are beautiful LED backlit IPS LCD displays. The Thunderbolt is a bit glossier, while the VP2772 a bit more uniform in display quality, and has a lovely light matte finish. But as a Mac user, I'd still have to say the Thunderbolt is a better overall display.

The VP2772 is a 10-bits per sub-pixel display, if you have the magic combination of an application that handles that many bits, have a graphics card that supports that mode, and have an operating system that supports it, then potentially you could have 64 times as many colors possibilities, and banding in gradients would be a distant memory. However, OS X doesn't support 10-bit sub-pixels; at least not yet, and even if it did, it'd be a while before many Mac applications would support that display format. So the price premium you are paying over an 8-bit per sub-pixel display would not pay off right away. Windows 7 and 8 do support 10-bit sub-pixels so there is some value there.

As for other features. This display has DisplayPort, Mini-DisplayPort, DVI and HDMI ports. I can connect a Mini-DisplayPort cable right from the Thunderbolt socket on my MacBook Pro and have it work--although it didn't come with a Mini-DisplayPort cable; if you want to connect this to a Mac, you'll need a Mini-DisplayPort cable.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Note that is "Good color" not "outstanding color". I am using this next to a Dell U3011. I have used it (the Dell) every day at work for 3 years now and I LOVE it. Below are some points to compare and who the winner is in each:

Note: both monitors are connected to my Dell Latitude e6510 using DisplayPort

Cost: ViewSonic by about $350 (about 40%)
When I bought the Dell a few years back, it was over $1300. At the time of this review, the ViewSonic is only $900. That's 44% more for the Dell vs. the ViewSonic. NOTE: Dell's current offering that most closely resembles the U3011 is the U3014. I have not used or seen the U3014, but I suspect it is very similar in most regards. Note that the current asking price on the U3014 is $1250 which is still a 39% price difference.

Resolution: Dell by 409,600 pixels (about 11%)
Dell's resolution is 2560x1600. The ViewSonic is is 2560x1440 (160 extra vertical pixels). Personally, I want my monitor to be tall and wide, not short and wide, so those extra 160 pixels are very welcomed. Heck, I'd like 320 pixels to make it 2560x1920... but I know of nothing with that particular native resolution. Note the size of the Dell is 30" and the VS is 27", but resolution is more important here...

Stand: ViewSonic (subjective)
The Dell monitor's stand can go up and down by about 3.5 inches (9 cm), swivel left and right and can tilt up and down. It CANNOT rotate into a portrait orientation. The ViewSonic can go up and down about 6 inches (23 cm), swivels and tilts comparably and CAN rotate into a portrait orientation. This gives a lot more flexibility and makes connecting/disconnecting wires MUCH easier on the ViewSonic than on the Dell (wire connectivity is pretty hard on the Dell!).
