ViewSonic the best brand Nam for LCD HDTV. I had 1 LCD HDTV 36", I bought in Costco 2 years ago still excellent. Now I had a new ViewSonic VT2342 23 Inch 1080p LCD HDTV. I bought Amazon online is the best LCD HDTV 1080p. I like it this model compatible for my Desktop PC and local TV by antenna.I appreciate for viewsonic Electric product.

We now have the TVs for 2 weeks. The picture is very good, off the air. The sound is mediocre at best. DVDs display very good picture, while VHS looks very poor - much worse than on the old low res tube TV :) Since the screen is "only" 23" diagonally, pixelation on fast moving objects seems minimal. This TV is now discontinued, but a similar TV with LED instead of CFL background lighting, is available instead, and which should improve contrast and black level retention even further. We did not try it with Blu Ray DVDs, but our upscaling DVD to 1080i gave very good picture, with vivid colors and decent black level retention. Recommended.

I bought this to mount in front of our treadmill so we can watch Netflix (via Roku) and DVDs while walking. I also had in mind that if we changed our minds, it would be a very nice computer monitor as well.
It looks very good, but I admit this is our first HDTV, so I have nothing to compare it to. I was pleased to see how much HD content we have available on our basic analog Comcast cable. You'll have to explore all the channels to find it, because cable box channel numbers are completely arbitrary assignments by the cable company that bear no relationship to the frequencies and sub channels that the TV displays. I have not tried using an antenna. Regarding other reviewers' complaints, the menu font is indeed small, (not an issue for us, since we're close to it). The channels do take a second or so to change, so I'm going to make that less of an issue by adding "favorites." It sounds fine to me. I use headphones most of the time, but the speakers are fine if we need them. There is a button labeled "wide" that cycles through several different aspect ratio and zoom combinations (I find we need this a lot because of the variety of different formats being broadcast, even on Netflix). It would be nice if the TV remembered the last setting you used on each channel. If you have a small set up where you want your computer monitor to double as a TV (dorm room or small apartment) this would be perfect.

We bought a new flat screen lcd tv for our house after saving for it for months. We picked Viewsonic because we heard they were a good brand. I was sorry I choose to purchase their product. It worked fine until it started giving off a high pitched sound and the pixels would lock p. This was after having it for less than 4 months.I called them directly as was told I had to ship it back to get fixed and I would have to pay for the shipping to them. Since this is a large tv it cost me $90.00 and took over 4 weeks until I got it back from them.
I asked they ship it to my work address because I didn't want a $400.00 tv on my front porch all day. They agreed and today I came homesick from work and found it on the porch! When I called customer service they said the "carrier" was to get a signature before leaving it and it as their fault. When I stated I gave them a different address he then said "oh" and gave me another 45 days on the warranty. What good is that? After opening it it STILL doesn't work and I have to pick to live with out a tv for another month and pay another $90.00 for shipping or cut my losses and go without one until we can save for another one. Save you money and the head aches! Get one from another company! |
