Editorial Reviews

From the back cover

In the spirit of The Groove Tube and Kentucky Fried Movie, View Discretion Advised is an uproarious '90s look at media-warped culture. Ted Smith (Tommy Blaze of the Newz) watches far too much television. One day, he awakens to find himself the star of sexy public service announcements, wild westerns, hair-raising horror movies and goofy game shows. Tune in. Turn on. Crack up. Viewer discretion is definitely advised.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite possibly the best Troma film I've ever watched, November 11, 2000

It actually isn't really much of a movie so much as it is a bunch of funny bits varying in humor, the longest of which being a little over half an hour. Mild gore and nudity nothing horribly offensive with the exception of a commercial about a prosthetic penis (one of the funniest parts). A recurring skit about a man with four multiple personalities. A mock horror movie. And many many other short bits.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Lost Skit Comedy Viewer Discretion Advised, May 30, 2006
By
[...]
Though this has been available on VHS for CHEAP... its still lost in my book. No one has ever mentioned it or seen it if I mentioned it, etc. I rented this a long long time ago as a teenager, and was in love. BTW the movie is from 1991, not 1998, which is its Troma release date.
I recently found a download of this, and it was great to be able watch it on DVD (Someone had made a DVDr 'rip' of this and uploaded... to them, Thanks!) Troma prevailed and has upgraded it to DVD, along with another film I have never seen. Troma fans will like it, though I must mention that this movie will not be offensive ENOUGH for some. Not you could show it to Mommy... well maybe a few ;) .
Essentially made by Tommy Blaze (who had a short lived comedy show The Newz, which I would like to see). He stars in almost ever skit, all but the Western, if I remember right. Each one is better than mediocre, and I know my skit comedy. This isn't a satire based on celebrity, thus some of the jokes about safe sex, impotence, and media-pollution affected youth are still very relevent. Still somewhat of a time-capsule though.

I can't believe this actually had a 5 star rating. I wouldn't give it 3 if I had a copy to sell! I watched part of each part, then pitched it in the trash. We really need a zero star rating.
