5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best bands you've never heard of
It's so rare that you find a punk band that combines intelligent songwriting with superb musicianship these days. Tilt is a good indication that straight up, no frills rock is not yet dead. And this CD is a great exempler of their skills.

Cinder Block is probably the best female vocalist working in a band today. Her soaring bluesy delivery recalls the late, great Mia...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Tilt's best work
After listening to 'Til it Kills, I was hooked on Tilt. Cinder's vocals were great and musical variety on that CD really held your ear. By comparison, Viewers Like You was dissapointing. There is definitly a historical theme in the lyrics, which is a bit different... but gets old really fast. The songs seem uninspired, the lyrics too straight forward for my taste...

It's so rare that you find a punk band that combines intelligent songwriting with superb musicianship these days. Tilt is a good indication that straight up, no frills rock is not yet dead. And this CD is a great exempler of their skills.

Cinder Block is probably the best female vocalist working in a band today. Her soaring bluesy delivery recalls the late, great Mia Zapata, and her lyrics are really quite brilliant. On "Viewers Like You", the songs range from the starkly political ("Jenny Segall", "Die of Shame") to the darkly humorous ("Animated Corpse"). Add the solid guitarwork of Terry Bischoff, and you have musical magic.

With every new Tilt CD I keep waiting for them to break out to the big time. I guess it is not to be. Ah well, they are too good for radio anyway

5.0 out of 5 stars cinder block is awesome, August 28, 2000

i think this cd is fantastic. i love cinder's vocals, and cinder herself is quite an inspiration, being a woman in such a male-dominated industry. I love how she puts such power and vocal energy into each of the songs. Tilt's vocals and lyrics reign supreme in the punk world. i was also hooked on tilt from 'Til It Kills (buy that cd!) and i think Viewers Like You demonstrates that same raw energy that cinder just naturally generates. I was not at all dissappointed in this cd. And unlike another critic, i feel that the lyrics are fantastic. Cinder writes the best punk lyrics (i love the big words)-- they're filled with so much more depth and meaning than the average punkers, which is partly why i like the music so much. She writes about the issues that she feels strongly about, and includes themes that everyone can identify with. I like her use of metaphors in war room and fine ride. Tilt produces so much more than just 'music.' i really believe she puts her heart and soul into the music and it becomes very evident when you listen. Go and buy this cd... and then til it kills, and then collect em all, and then playcell. you won't regret it.

You would think that after listening to a CD as many times I have this one, you'd get at least a little sick of it. This CD never gets old! I have always loved TILT but this is by far the best. If you know someone who is in to punk bands with strong female vocals, this is it.
If you've never listened to TILT, this is a great place to start.

I've been listening to bits of Tilt over the years, but when I got this album it was as if I suddenly woke up. This is such a complete album. I know it's so cliche to say, but this one absolutely rocks!

There is definitly a historical theme in the lyrics, which is a bit different... but gets old really fast. The songs seem uninspired, the lyrics too straight forward for my taste (they don't make you think) and the music nothing new or noteworthy. Maybe it's one of those albums that'll grow on you, but buy at your own risk.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best punk albums of '99!, October 12, 1999

This album is punk perfection. These have got to be some of Cinder's most meaningful lyrics to date, and the music is so damn intense. I recently got a chance to meet and interview Cinder Block, and she personifies internal and external beauty. Buy this NOW, then buy "Til it Kills" and the older Tilt discs.
