2.0 out of 5 stars Came with the computer., September 18, 2007
This review is from: Viewsonic G70F-2 17" CRT Monitor (Electronics)
So it came with the computer, so I don't know if that means I should have low expectations, but for the most part, I always have high ones for monitors. I mean, they're freaking monitors. If the factory can't make these things without errors, there's something wrong with them. So to make things clear, the monitor worked fine for about the first year I owned it. Then, at some rather random point and completely without reason (meaning, I never touch the monitor for the exception of turning the power on) it starts to display this "Memory Recall Ok?" message across the middle of the screen. Press 1 for yes, or 2 for no. It doesn't matter what you press, it'll keep coming on, and it'll keep coming back. Sometimes it'll take a few days or even weeks, or sometimes it'll take a millisecond. The bottom line is that the monitor turned stupid, and now I have to buy a new one, as the message will appear in the middle of videos, video games, web browsing, typing in a word document, and anything else you can think of doing that such a thing would be bothersome to the point where you want to punch a hole in the monitor. Unfortunately it's the only one I have, but you can bet once I get a new one, this one is going out the window, and Office Space styled to its grave. If this is what ViewSonic has to offer, I'll look elsewhere.
