I got this monitor/tv in December and I really loved it. There are some issues with light leaking around edges of screen but nothing that bothered me. After 3 months of owning the monitor it broke. The screen went black and white and buttons didn't work on the monitor. I called support and they said that it was a firmware problem (which they said was common) and I would have to send it in. It took about 4 phone calls and a lot of managers to finally convince Viewsonic to pay for shipping since it was only 3 months old. My monitor has been gone for about a month now and I have heard now word. I call support and they say that there is no way of getting any more specific details than "in repair". Very frusterating especially since I use this as a monitor for my computer. I recommend not buying this monitor/tv because of reliability issues and there are many other similar priced options.

I have the VT2430 24" blah, blah, blah. It is wonderful and was a great deal at $260.
I checked the Viewsonic website and they don't mention anything about a "30 Series".
I suspect this is some marketing voodoo to get people to pay 30% more for the same product.

If I am mistaken I apologize, but I don't want people being misled by inappropriate advertising gimmicks.

I have had my VT2430 now for 7 months.. Got it for Christmas 2009. I love the sharp detailed picture and use it 95% as a computer monitor.
It is a wonderful monitor but after 5 months the picture faded and customer service helped me to reset all the controls and it worked fine for another 30Days.. Then it failed again.

Bottom line they were great about having me send it back at my expense and sending me out another monitor. It took 3 weeks and I had it back no follow up needed. The replacement is doing fine so far and I've had it running 2 weeks for 24/7 .. So I just hope it works better then the first.

The TV option is also a quality picture.. I really with that I could have this be a monitor with TV sound and Pic In Pic on the PC monitor...
