If you want a fantastic book for kids that will give you a few laughs yourself then get this book. It'll not only teach the kids about Vikings, immigrants in general, but also has a great moral. It is a truly fun read with wonderful illustrations.
Amazon lists this book for ages 9-12, but it's very appropriate for a younger audience as well.

I giggled my way through Vigfus the Viking!
This is a genuinely delicious book chock full of warmth that delivers real lessons on character.
Vigfus may have crash landed in New York, but he sailed into my heart!
Appropriate for kids as young as 4 and their older siblings, its sophisticated charm makes it a book to read again and again.
