Viking Components

Guaranteed Compatibility
View a listing of PCs, notebooks, PDAs, digital cameras, or other products that are guaranteed compatible with this Viking product. Making sure you have guaranteed compatibility is very important because of the hundreds of different brands, types, and configurations of memory available. As a result, memory that works in one product doesn't necessarily work in another--and there's nothing more frustrating than buying something you can't use.

Because compatibility is so critically important, Amazon has forged a strategic relationship with Viking Components and created the Memory Finder. The Memory Finder is a tool that can help you find memory that works with your specific product, taking the guesswork out of buying memory.

Benefits of Additional Memory
Below are listed just a few of the many reasons to purchase additional memory:

Increased Speed: Increasing your computer's memory will speed up access times and translates to faster processing speeds. For example, doubling the memory in your computer often results in 50 percent faster data processing.

Increased Power: Increasing your computer's memory will enable it to process more data. You can have more windows and documents open at the same time. Computer game play becomes faster and more fluid, and high-end graphic programs perform more quickly.

Increased Performance: Increasing your computer's memory can decrease the amount of times your computer crashes. The number one reason for "blue screens" in Windows is because the computer runs out of available memory to carry out a function.

Cost Savings: Adding more memory to your computer can lead to dramatic increases in performance for a relatively low price. In some cases, it can even eliminate the need to purchase a new computer thus saving you hundreds of dollars.

Superb Service
Since 1988, Viking has built customer loyalty and long-term partnerships as the industry leader in customer service. Viking is known throughout the industry for having superb customer service programs for both the reseller/retailer as well as the end user. In fact, focus panel studies conducted by CMP Publications, the industry's largest publisher, have rated Viking first in service consistently every time. When you purchase this item you can expect the industry's best customer service policies including: a lifetime replacement warranty, guaranteed product compatibility, 24/7 toll free technical support, a liberal returns policy, and a 24 hour replacement policy in the unlikely event of a Viking product failure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Want to know how much smart media cards can hold?, July 3, 2001

This review is from: Viking 64 MB SmartMedia Card (SSFDC3/64) (Personal Computers)
Here is general guidline of about how many pictures a smart media card can hold. This list was made up using a 2.1 mega pixel camera at 1600x1200 resolution. (The Fuji Finepix 2300). So if you have a higher mega pixel camera the amount of pictures it can hold will decrease and you will be able to hold a few more pictures with a lower mega pixel model. But these numbers will give you a basic idea so you will know what capacity of smart media card is for you. (1600x1200 resolution) Example: Listed is the card capacity with the amount of photos it can hold in the camera's Fine (best mode), Normal, and Basic photo modes. (Fine,Normal,Basic)

8 MB (9,19,39) 16 MB (19,39,75) 32 MB (40,82,155) 64 MB (82,170,330) 128 MB (168,350,700)

*Most camera's normal mode takes pictures of good enough quality for most photos you will take, unless the camera is under 1.3 mega pixels.

*Many cameras come with a 8MB memory card. But that usually isn't enough memory for most people, here is what I would suggest purchasing:

My suggestions:

1-1.9 mega pixel camera - 8MB or 16 MB

2-2.9 mega pixel camera - 32 MB

3 mega pixels and up - 64 MB

It is what it is, and it does what it does. 64 meg add-in for my Rio 500. More songs, no hassles. Plug in, format, go. 'nuff said!

4.0 out of 5 stars 1000 PICS in a match book that is as thin as a dime !, June 14, 2000
This review is from: Viking 64 MB SmartMedia Card (SSFDC3/64) (Personal Computers)
This card enables me to take about 1000 pictures (at the lowest resolution) with my Olympus 460. This is the largest smartmedia card you can currently buy and only has one minor draw back. The panorama feature is not available on Olympus cameras that have a panorama feature since this is not an Olympus brand card. Over all this is a great product. With such a high data capacity card as smartmedia USB reader is almost a must. I can download the 64 MB that are on this card in under 2 Minutes with a USB reader. Before with the serial connection that came with my camera it took (or felt like) hours! This is also the cheaper of the 2 64MB Smartmedia currently on amazon now.
