4.0 out of 5 stars Great look into Viking reality, but.....
I loved this story, but the hero was a little irritating. Thorne the Relentless spots Fiona the Learned in a pool naked on the Isle of Man after he feels a compulsion to go to the island. Immediately he is enchanted and has to have her. He is scared off but returns a year later after suffering a whole year dreaming about her and obsessing about her until he is sure he is...

2.0 out of 5 stars Repetitive...Repetitive...And So On
The first Connie Mason book I read was a Black Knight and I loved it. I decided I wanted to read more of her books but I soon found out her writing style. Although she has great ideas for getting characters together, she likes to repeat things over again, forces her characters to make stupid decisions to keep the storyline going, and sometimes even the villians get their...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great look into Viking reality, but....., November 27, 2000
This review is from: Viking! (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved this story, but the hero was a little irritating. Thorne the Relentless spots Fiona the Learned in a pool naked on the Isle of Man after he feels a compulsion to go to the island. Immediately he is enchanted and has to have her. He is scared off but returns a year later after suffering a whole year dreaming about her and obsessing about her until he is sure he is bewitched. He is sent to kill the 'witch' on the Isle of Man. He soon finds he can't kill her, he'd rather stop breathing for he feels completely under her siren spell and must have her.

Fiona is no witch, she is a healer. Since she was small, her friend and teacher Brann, has told her she will be captured by her future soulmate, a Viking, on a raid. She is appalled and aghast. She isn't sure Brann is correct, but when Thorne shows up and takes her to his homeland. She soons realizes she is indeed his soulmate and can't understand how Thorne will accept this since he firmly believes she is a witch and has cast a spell on him.

The history here is excellent and is accurate. You get a real life glimpse into Viking life and how they were. I liked Fiona and Brann, but Thorne quickly got on my nerves. He continuously believes that she is a witch and has cast a spell on him. He also believes EVERYONE else besides Fiona when things happen, even a known murderer and liar. The story kept me turning the pages regardless of how Thorne got on my nerves, lol, Connie Mason is a superb writer and this story is worth the read...

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful *Wipe a way Tear*, January 31, 2006
This review is from: Viking! (Mass Market Paperback)
Number one Book of my Favorites of all times!!!!!
This book is darling I enjoyed every last page!! And I will dislike to spoil your fun by telling you what happen but I will say this in the matter if you dislike raped, love intense scenes, an a romance mixed all together then you will by all means enjoy this book. Although I must warn you at times it does get annoying with how the Hero thinks of his Heroine and how his family treats her although its only logical they'll think like that but after awhile you'll be like "DUDE HE LOVES THE FREAKIN GURL JUST ACCEPT HER ALREADY!!!" and then there are the awesome describle scenes that are stuck in your brain (not like thats a bad thing) point is; Get this book.

This review is from: Viking! (Mass Market Paperback)
Viking for me was a great book i have read this book 3 times and the ending for me was just beautiful with the whole family together.. It was a little annoying with the father and brother calling her a witch every couple pages but its a really good book from beginning to end and of course Connie Mason's love scenes are always good..

4.0 out of 5 stars I actually enjoyed it..., January 20, 2007
This review is from: Viking! (Mass Market Paperback)
To be honest I thought I was going to hate this book. Vikings did not interest me in the least so I thought I was going to be bored out of my mind. Although Vikings are not appealing this book kept my interest. I hate the Vikings barbaric ways but since I know in my head that it was truly the way of things I overlooked the treatment of slaves & the women & tried to focus on the main characters & how their romance developed. If you can go out of the norm & try something different then this is a perfect book to do that with. I truly enjoyed it.

I could not put this book down. Although, I though in a few spots it was unbelievable about the evil going on around the hero, I believed I was in the book. It was very realistic about the time period and I really enjoyed the book. I can't wait to read another Connie Mason book.

1.0 out of 5 stars what a dummy, September 26, 2011
This review is from: Viking! (Mass Market Paperback)
I am really turned off by dumb men, well when they are dumber than usual. I always have felt that a man should be smart, well at least for a man. But though the cover of viking looks great, and you wonder about the handsome man, he is a complete dummy. I mean, just really stupid, like a big lug. So I could not finish the book, it was really starting to get under my skin.

4.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT!! HATED IT!!, August 19, 2011

Loved the book but hated certain parts. First, the hero, Thorne was a complete idiot. Fiona was a great heroine, although there were times I wanted to reach into the book and shake some sense into her. His father and brother were just as dumb as our hero. Everyone in the village kept screaming that she was a witch and these dummies were the leaders of the chant. The villians, Bretta and Rolo, were just plain horrible. I did find myself cheering for our loverbirds throughout the book but it was a bit tiring reading the back and forth, he loves her, he loves her not. That being said, buy the book. You will want to throw it across the room ( I actually did several times) but it was worth it.
