Book Description

November 1999
Honduras, Central America, 1885

Carriage broken down in an isolated area of Central America, abandoned by her guide and surrounded by bandits, Marta Swan appeals to handsome Ramon Santiago for rescue. A swift ride on horseback takes them to a remote castle nestled in the mountains, where Marta is welcomed by Ramon's employer, an enigmatic, red-bearded man known throughout the region as the Viking. Marta is shocked and terrified to discover the Viking is a madman who believes her to be the reincarnation of a lost princess.

The Viking possesses great treasure, a golden crown and an ancient medallion, which men are seeking and will kill to own. Everything depends upon Marta's finding her archaeologist co-worker, Alan Avery, who has because of their work ventured into Honduras and has vanished into the jungle. But Ramon, who Marta now realizes is acting as her personal bodyguard, will not allow her to escape.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"4 Stars! Vickie Britton and Loretta Jackson have created an exciting story, rich in historic and sensual details. I wasn't crazy about the first person viewpoint, but they do a good job. I must admit, it does draw you in closer to the action and the people. This is a good, solid adventure with lots of twists and turns." -- Scribes World Reviews

4.0 out of 5 stars Viking Crown, December 12, 2002
This review is from: The Viking Crown (Diskette)
Marta Swan, daughter of Archaeologist, Dr. James Swan, travels to
Honduras, Central America, to join her fiance, Alan Avery, an
archaeologist also. The year is the late eighteen hundreds, and Honduras
is a hotbed of political intrigue and violence.

Dr. Swan, sponsored by the New York Museum of Antiquities, has spent his
life researching the excavation of Mayan Ruins in Copan, Honduras.
Legends abound that the ancient Vikings visited Honduras. Caught up in
the mysterious search for Runic writings and Viking jewels, Alan doesn't
meet Marta as planned. A test of loyalties follows. Can Marta trust her
heart, and follow her attraction to the handsome Ramon, or is he an
adversary?

THE VIKING CROWN is told in first person with interesting, well drawn
characters. The authors have penned a work with vivid descriptions, and
a foreboding sense of danger. A good read.
