Excellent book for a fairly limited subject,

This review is from: The Viking Dig: The Excavations at York (Paperback)
My one complaint with this book is that there are not enough pictures. For an archaeology book, it is remarkably readable and enjoyable. I actually bought it because I had read the local library's copy so many times. I got it mostly for a couple of the drawings and I consider it worth the price, easily. Please note, this does not read like popular fiction. It is a book about the archaeology of a particular place. In its proper context, this is a very good book to have. I am glad to have it. |
